I purchased a new KitchenAid Professional 600 Stand Mixer Model #KP26M1XQNP. I used it once and it was difficult to keep the paddle from coming off during mixing. The speed didn't seem accurate...

Stop messing about with it and return it to place of purchase to be fixed under guarantee. Any fiddling about you do with it is only going to endanger your guarantee.

The mixing head, the part that flips up is loose. when i am mixing and i try to lock the head i have to lip it slightly to be able to lock it. after that it makes a noise as the beater, either the paddle...

It sounds like the head height needs adjusting. There are full instructions in the user manual. Basically lift the head to its fully back position. Look towards the hinge and you will see a screw that can be screwed out to raise the head height.

The wisk is hiting the bowl how can i adjust

Hi FMOINIZ, by the symptom you are describing, you need to adjust your mixer’s Bowl to Beater Clearance. This is quite an easy task, and is explained in your Users Instruction manual that came with your mixer. If you do not have one, you can easily download a PDF version from the KA website at: ’t have the original manual you can easily download a PDF version of your Owners Manual from the KA website at: (
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number, in your case KSM150 and select the file listed for your model that appears under Owners Manuals (4) KP50PSWW0.pdf (2930.74 KB) and save that file to your PC. Turn to Page 11 and you will find the instructions for adjusting the Bowl-Lift model mixer head height.
But to save you some time, I have extracted the instructions below:
Bowl-Lift models
• Unplug mixer.
• Place bowl lift handle in down position.

• Turn screw (B) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flat beater and clockwise (right) to lower flat beater.
•Make adjustments with flat beater, so it just clears surface of bowl.

I hope this helps! –Howard, Burke, VA

The attachments move up on the shaft

There is a retaining clip part number 9703680 illus no 25 on pg 5 of this part diagram that part slip down the shaft on my mixer. I use a pair retain clip pliers to put back in place in the grove on the shaft and was back in business. if the clip is not on the shaft then you need to get a new one.

Mixer not creaming butter and sugar...

make sure you are using the right attachment. usually for batters you want to use the flat beater. not the dough hook. the flat beater looks like a triangle with lines through the center. and make sure you are using the correct speed on the mixer. start out at stir and then go up to no more than half speed. these mixers take a little longer to incorperate batters but they do a very good job at it. if the batter is thin enough you can try using the wisk as well. but only if it is a thin batter.
