Question about HP LaserJet 1020 Printer
I have a HP 1022. When I print a page on this printer it appears as if the printer is printing the requested document but also printing parts of the document again as a shadow. I think something in the printer must be dirty but I cannot determine what or how to clean it.
You either have a bad toner cartridge or bad fuser. Measure the distance from and exact on image printered to the exact same spot on the page it appears again. If it's fuser it will be 41.0mm between image and defect. Any other spacing on the front of the page is usually cartridge.
Try replacing the cartridge first and if that doesnt fix the issue it's fuser.
Here's a link for the service manual. Look at page 117 to get a complete list on repetative defects and their causes.
Hope that helps you.
