Hello -
Try replacing the batteries. If that doesn't work, try to blow out around the lens - hopefully with dry compressed air. This can sometimes happen if dirt gets in the lens mechanism.
If it's still under warranty, you can email Canaon at:
carecenter@cits.canon.com
Good luck!

Will the ACK800 adapter kit charge my camera and allow me to use it without the kit being plugged into th camera?

The A495 does not charge batteries. The adapter merely allows the camera to run on external power.

Trying to access inside of lens to clean dried condensation spots

Good luck with that. I hope you have some money set aside for a new camera. The lens is not consumer-repairable.

On my canon powershot A495 my camera says lens error restart camera but i havent mistreated it how can i fix this myself

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

My camera digital canon powershot A495, the lens doesnt back normaly. In display say "Lens error, will be sut down automatically, restart your camera". Thanks for your help.

Your camera almost certainly has a lens error, this is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!

Stuck lenses are probably the most common reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair chance of recovering use of your camera again

The fault is commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply become dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.

If your camera is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse then contact the Canon service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed the cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose by trying to fix this yourself.

Please click here and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault. Although the article mentions Canon a few times, the advice applies equally to all cameras with lens errors and is not model-specific.

If the link doesn't work then cut and paste the following address into your browser:-

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Good luck, I hope you manage to use this information to fix your camera, or at least are able to use the information to help decide whether to buy another camera. If you do decide that you have to throw your camera away then don't forget to remove the memory card as it can be used in other devices. Please take a moment to rate the free answer I have provided for you and any testimonial which you might wish to add is always welcome.

How to clean the focusing lens?

First question: where is the dust?
If the dust ist outside the cam: no problem. Try a soft brush and remove bigger particles, then take a thin microfibre cloth and clean the dust film on the lens. Be careful - every sand particle scratches the coating, so use the brush!
If the dust is internal it's more complicated.
May be the dust is on the focussing screen. If you dismout the lens, there is a litte lock on the top inside the cam. Do not open without having special tool. Each fingerprint on this little plastic plane is not removable. It's an extreme sensitive fresnell lens.
Don't try to clean that with cloth or brush. Only airflow is allowed.
If this dosn't help - use the Canon service or replace the focussing screen with a new one (as Example Canon EF-D).

If your memory card does support you can download with flash player/quicktime any file size to fit the memory to play .
It will be ideal not to use this on a larger scale.

Lens problem

you should have dropped your cam down to the floor or you should have forcibly tried to put your lens inside when the servomotor lens tried to bring the lens out..take your camera to the nearest service centre..you should not try to open the cam since the parts used in it are very small and even a slight modification might be responsible for huge change in the calibration.so my best advice is to take it to the nearest service centre available..

Lens wont close

tryig to force it closed if sand is in it will do further damage. Can you gently extend the lens and jiggle it to see if any sand comes out. Most likely this fault needs repairing to open it up and remove the sand.
