If your Bios Support Booting from USB, make a bootable usb of the operating system and install from it. or Download OS ( windows 7 ) from internet and install it from inside your Current OS.

I recently bought Sims 3 for PC. So, when I open my IBM disk tray and put the disk in, the computer doesn't recognize it and I cannot install the game. This game was a little expenisve, so I would

Hi Elizabeth,

Depending on the model of your IBM PC, it could be that it has a CD drive and not a DVD drive. The Sims 3 game is on a DVD. If this is the case you will have to upgrade your CD player to a DVD player.

To test if your drive is working insert an original music CD into the drive and see if it plays. If it does play you most likely have a CD player and not a DVD player, which means you will have to upgrade to a DVD player/writer drive anyway.
These are relatively inexpensive and retail for approximately $20 to $50.

Feel free to reply should you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,

Hello have you tried going into my computer, right clicking your CD/DVD drive letter and clicking eject?

However you can also try downloading the firmware for your CD/DVD Drive by clicking the link i have provided, select your operating system, scroll down and click on the CD/DVD Drives link.

How do i install the very small cd for my webcam 1H-3W00DB with only a large CD-ROM drive? is there free software anywhere on line i can inall instead? thank you. teri r.

Open the tray on your CD-ROM device.
Look closely -- this is a circular depression in the center of the tray,
which is _exactly_ designed to hold a mini-size CD-disk.

Or, if your computer is a "slot-loading" device, i.e., there is no slide-out tray, there is just a slot into which you insert the CD, like putting a coin into a parking-meter, then you need an alternate approach:
* find a friend with a CD-ROM device _with_ that tray.
* copy all the files from the CD-disk onto a USB memory-stick.
* move the memory-stick back to your computer.
* install from the files on the memory-stick.

Help my cd drive will not close. I am not sure if a cd inside. I am trying to install fax/printer mfc-295cn

If there was a cd inside then you should see it in the tray when the tray opened. If not, try to shake it with the tray open to hear if there's plastic rattling inside. If all else fails you may have to remove the cd-rom drive from the machine (with the power off) to see what else might be stuck in there.

Maybe try to install the mfc-295cn with drivers downloadable through the Internet instead of a cd-rom. They may be more up to date anyway.

Installing the little CD

No... its not too small, it will play. If you see a little recession in your PCs CD Tray, that is for playing the mini CDs.

You can try manually ejecting it by using a paper clip and poking it in the small hole underneath the tray.  Keep pressing it and see if you can pull it out.  After that try the eject button again.
