Hello
Insert one Audio CD into it, and check wether it reads and recogonize it or not. If no disc display is shown, the laser pickup unit in your player is faulty. It is a special type, 'Three Spot Beam Detection type', and should be replaced with exact type and number, and is a critical component in your system. As its type indicates, it has three beams coming out from it to read and detect CDs put in it. If any one beam gets damaged, the unit has gone, and has to be replaced. This unit comes out from the factory, alainged to the best, and no focus alingments should be done in it.
First of all, check whether the disc spins inside the syestem as it has loaded. In rare cases sled motor 'the motor that spins the disc' may get strucked. Be sure the disc spins, before replacing the laser unit. If disc does not spins, you have to replace the sled motor, and it is a skilled work. If you have patience and confidance in this work, you can do it by yoursef. Otherwise take help from an expert technican. OK.

    Hello
Disc cleaner only cleans the optical lens surface. It will clean only if the disc spins inside. It can't do its work, if disc does not spins. You just check whether it spins inside when it has loaded. If it spins, the cleaning has been done, and your units' laser head assembly is defective, and should be replaced wit an identical one, both in type and number. OK.

    Hello
The device you owns is a high quality one. Without any skill and knoledge, opening and disassembleing its mechanism will make you in grate trouble. To replace the lased head assembly, you have to take the component out from its mechanism, and note its number and type. it will have markings on its bodey, about its type number, either laser printed or by a sticker. You should notice it well, and should buy the exact one of same type, otherwise it will ba waste of time and money for you. I'll give you its specifications here. Note it well. Its number is more important.
specifications [1] Object Lens Drive System => 2 diamentional parellel Drive. [2] Tracking Detection => 3 Spot Beam Detection [3] Optical Source => Semiconductor Laser. [4] Wavelength => 780nm. Note well that its wavelength is very important. OK.

Hi I have a Technics PR-305 Digital Piano, that I had since the fall of 2001. I went to play on it on it today Some of the notes in the chords weren`t sounding.

Sometimes the contacts under the keys get dirty and must be cleaned. To do this you have to disassemble the keyboard,
carefully remove the PCB under the whole keyboard, locate the not sounding notes, remove tre siliconic stripe with the contact and gently clean the inside black conductive rubber pills with a cottonfioc and alcool.
Also clean the contacts on PCB.

The third G key on my Yamaha YPT 300 does not cooperate with the touch response feature. Regardless of how hard I press it, it plays the note loudly. All of the other keys are fine.

Below the keyboard, there is a rubber contact (see figure 1).third-g-key-yamaha-ypt-300-not-cooperate-shyexoo0xcste5eq310zs3ot-4-0.jpg Damage to the contact rubber can cause:
- Note plays loudly or
- Note does not plays at all.

It is caused by:
1. Carbon rubber contacts dirty / dusty (yellow arrow). Clean with a pencil eraser (or cloth). Gently rub it.

2. Contact shredded rubber. If this happen,it can not be repaired or glue. So, you have to replace one octave as in Figure 1.
The yellow arrow indicates the side that is often torn.

When i put in the blank cd i record but when played back no sound on cd.not recording

A common probllem with stand-alone CD recordders is that one MUST do a "finalize" operation before the disk will play on most CD players.

My does my cdj keep skipping on track 1 and 2

Try a head cleaner first and if that doesnt work then look around for a new cd player or use the computer as if its what i think it is then its not reading correctly and it not really repairable ,Well financialy viable as i think the memory reading of the circuitry is questionable.

Yamaha PSR 740 Volume knob crackles when turned and the sound cuts out when played at higher volume

There is dust in the sliding mechanism, which can be cleaned with a good electronic cleaner, which does not evaporate when drying. If that does not work, replace the volume potentiometer, the `part behind the knob.

When i put a cd in to play, we cant get the words to show on digital screen??

You MUST use a special Karaoke CD disk to show lyrics on the screen. Plain music CD's will play music but NOT display the lyrics. Karaoke disks can be expensive... so shop online for Karaoke CD's. Some music stores, including Costco and other warehouses sell some Karaoke disks, but they are usually in a very small section of the displays.

A call to Gemini is in order here. Given your location, try asking if they will send you a replacement drive. It is common for the drives to contain special uncoding that will prevent a generic replacement drive from working properly. Since this unit is so new, it is likely that the company will replace the drive for you.

I just had my Tyros 1 contacts cleaned and contacts on a couple octaves replaced. It plays fine but every setting button is now lit, as if it is stuck in the startup test mode. So I can't tell what is set...

In a word definitely. You didn't mention your location so:http://www.yamaha.com/usa/ You will have to look here to find the nearest qualified repair person and I would suggest that the first repair person pay for it or at least pay shipping.
