We have a Dect 215 (philips). We cannot make or receive any calls although the internet connection is fine. The phone bleeps when put back on the charging unit and battery icon indicates full. When you pick up the phone and press the phone symbol you cannot even get a dialling tone.

Are there any other phones that work on that line? The phone line can go down and the internet connection still work.

I have two at&t land line phones, phone 1 works , phone 2 stopped working when i tried to review missed calls. it won't let me call out , it won't let me nevagate to any mode.

Move Phone 1 to the jack that Phone 2 is plugged into and see if it works with that jack. If not, you have a problem in your phone wiring. If it does, move Phone 2 to where Phone 1 had been plugged in and try it there. If it doesn't work in either jack, the phone is dead.

My phone seems dead although the computer connection and the fax are working. Help!

First try a new phone cord and a different phone. Are all items attached to one jack with one phone number? If you have multiple jacks, check if the phone works on another jack. If you have separate phone lines, check if the phone works on the computer/fax line. Check if the phone works without the other devices (particularly if daisy chained). Swap out all of the cables in the chain if it works directly.

In the multiple line case, if your phone works on one line and not the other, check if a phone works on that line at the incoming service. (If you are lucky, the incoming service has RJ-11 connections and you can test this yourself. Otherwise, you'll need a service person.) I've had several cases where mice or something broke one of two incoming phone lines outside so I just lost that one phone number. If the outside service doesn't work, call your phone company. They will fix it for free. If the outside service works, check your jack for loose wires. Check any exposed wiring in the house for damage. If the wiring isn't damaged in the exposed areas or at the jack, you'll probably need a service call (for a fee).

Checking the jack and wiring also applies if the phone works at one jack and not another.

If another phone works and the AT&T phone doesn't, check if the power adapter is plugged in and warm or cold. If the power brick is cold, then replace the power supply. The information on the type of power supply is usually listed on the bottom of the phone. Since this is a corded phone, it should work even without power, but sometimes, it won't. If the power is good to the phone, then replace the AT&T phone. Unless it's under warranty, it isn't worth getting them serviced. They aren't meant to be user serviced.

I hope this helps.

Phone isn't working. Message flashing says "Waiting for synch"

This happens on the older software levels of the Mitel phone systems when the phone type programmed does not match the phone type connected. Example: if the phone system programming has a 4015 phone type for that port and you connect a 4025 phone you will get this result. Another cause could be the port you are connected to is analog(used for analog devices such as fax, credit card, modem, or standard single line phone) instead of digital; you would get this result even on the latest software levels.

Assuming that this is the same phone that has been at this location and was working previously, try a different working 4025 phone at this location. If the different phone works, then the problem is in the phone and needs to be sent for repair. If the different phone doesn't work, change the line cord to eliminate possible bad line cord. If the phone still does not work, the problem could be in the outlet, building wiring or in the telephone system. At this point you likely need to call a service technician to track where the problem is.

I don't get a dial tone when I pick up the phone both the base and the extention both are dead but I have a fax machine also on another line and it works ok

to test the phone system. unplug the phones that are not working from the telephone jack. Install a phone on that phone jack that you know works (an old one or a cheap new phone). If the new phone works on the phone line in question, then your cordless phones are the problem and not the house phone line. If you plug the known working phone into the wall and it now does not work, then you have a problem with the wall outlet or the connection to the house. If it is a phone line or house connection problem, call your phone company. If it is your cordless unit, try them at a different phone outlet or at some other house to see if they work anywhere.

How do you get caller id to work set up on line but not working on phone do you need to set up and how if you do

Hello Friend,
Usually you don't have to do anything in the phone to show the caller ID, if the phone service provider enabled this feature for you it should start working right away. you can check if this feature is enable or no by using another analog phone. if it doesn't work with a second analog phone that means you have to talk to your service provider about it but if it works with a second phone at this time the phone can be incompatible with your service provider.
Best Regards,

Phone works in one jack but not another

Hi, Looks like either the wiring is slightly different or the jack plug not quite with in the tolerance limit. Can you swap the cables between the units (if they are removeable) to eliminate the cable as well. I would suspect the cable on the new phone! I would also make sure there is no dirt on the connectors on the plug...there are minute grooves where you can see the meatl...sometinmes these get blocked!

Avaya phone not working

Yes, check the wiring. Sounds like the blue pair isnt working at that jack.

What happens when you plug that phone into the extension port of the system?

My phone does'nt work

Be sure both the line cord and the handset cord are plugged in. If they are, plug a working phone into the dead phone's modular wall outlet. If it works, assume the problem is with the dead telephone. Try plugging the dead phone into a working outlet. If it works there, its cord or modular plug may be making a poor connection with the first modular receptacle. Switch cords with the working phone and try again. If it works, replace the cord. If it doesn't work with a good cord, plugged into a working outlet, the phone is probably defective. Further isolate the problem by substituting the handset from a working phone. If it works, repair or replace the dead phone's receiver. If it doesn't, repair or replace the entire phone. Be sure the switch hook isn't stuck down or jammed.
