Please help!! i recently got a jvc kd-sc800 system off a buddy for my car, only problem is it doesnt turn on to be honest. every time i hit display it shows the display for like 5 seconds then seems to shut off. i cant change any settings, or anything on it without it shutting off, the wires are fine, just the stupid thing wont even turn on when i hit the power button, the only time i get any response out of it is if i hit display, no other buttons do anything, and it keeps showing 1:00 for 5 secs every time i hit display, is there something im not doing?????

Please check if the connector of the faceplate and head unit don't have dirty or bended pins, these can produce false contacts between them and can produce fails as the one you have, if this is OK, maybe you have a bad faceplate or head unit.

Clock setting on jvc kd-g140 car audio deck

Press the Mode button (M) and the display will flash mode. Then hold the select button (SEL) until it changes to display something else. Hit left and right seek until you find clock M and clock H. Hit select again and use the volume button to change the time! Took me two freaking hours to figure that **** out.

Press and hold the SEL button to bring up the settings menu. Press and release the tuning (>>>) buttons until you see CLOCK H. Turn the volume knob to select the hour. If necessary, press (>>>) for CLOCK M; adjust the minutes setting with the volume knob. Press SEL when you're finished. An owner's manual can be downloaded from JVC at this link: http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=KD-G720J
