If you're using a SD card adapter to connect it to your computer, please verify that the adapter lock switch isn't active, this can set your SD as read only.

Try Driverestore to fix any corruption on SD caused by logical errors: http://www.pcrecovery.com/driverestore

  • lnishada Mar 20, 2011

Thank you very much for this link . I think driverestore is the software that i was finding this software detected the error of my memory . But it asks for activation key to fix the error but unfortunately i have not an activation key . How can i find activation key for this software ? Or can you post a link for another software instead of driverestore ?

Hi,when you purchase a new micro SD card before use, youwill need to format the memory card so that you will be able to know the actual size of the Micro SD card by checking the details after formatting it.

After formatting the micro SD card and checking the details, if you still do not see the accurate size which is about 1.88mb or the about, that means the micro SD card you bought needs to be replaced. Not a good one.

Have a nice day.

Cannot format sd card

You are probably trying to format a micro-SD card that is greater than 2GB eg, micro-SDHC (High Capacity) of 4GB or bigger are not supported by 'older' devices. Stick to 1Gb or 2Gb standard microSD cards for your device.

Hope it helps. Let me know how you go.

Computer is not reading my Micro SD, but phone is reading..

What size is the SD card in GBs? If it is larger than 2GB (4 or 8) do you have a SDHC card reader?
Also try formating the card first in the phone and then using it. Using it straight out of the package, while able to be written, my have difficultly with other devices reading the data.

The PIC or EEPROM inside these cards may not be working. I guess you best bet is to buy a new one try Kingston brand or go with another Sandisk.

Problems with formating samsung e250 micro sd card

Did you try to format the card in the device thru Windows Media Player, or Rhapsody? If so, try formatting it thru My Computer instead. My Computer>Device Name>Right Click and select format. It is most likely NOT a virus if you have only put music on the device. It is most likely a corrupt file, or a database error. Best of Luck.
