My dog stepped on my remote and now my tv is set at 480 for all channels instead of the 720 like it use to be. My channels are not sharp anymore. How can I fix this

This may have been changed by pressing a button on the TV remote or more likely to be a button on the remote (or device itself) of the a Sat TV, Cable TV converter or other set top box - unless you're using an antenna.

You're looking for a button that is called "Resolution". What source are you trying to watch? Is it Antenna, Cable Box, Sat Box, etc. - what is the make and model of this box and the TV?

The sat button on my remote is rapidly blinking, and now most of the other buttons will not work.

When the SAT button blinks repeatedly, or the buttons do a dance (Sat & DVD, TV & AUX, repeat) it means you need new batteries. Replace all four AAA batteries, ensure they are all four aligned the same way, and then hit SAT. Your remote should return to its normal function. If you leave the batteries out for too long, the remote will forget how to operate the TV and receiver, so be sure to have all four new batteries ready before you remove the old ones.

I just had my cable hooked up after i moved and my remote will not let me press select to watch cable even though everything else works on the remote.

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. It sounds like you may need to readdress remote to your DISH receiver box. Make sure that your remote is in SAT mode by pressing the SAT button once so that it lights up red. Once you have done this you will need to take your remote to the TV1 location in order to readdress it to the receiver if you are not already there. I will list here for you the instructions on readdressing the remote after this post. I hope you find this information useful and if it does not fix the issue please email me at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com and I will be happy to see what else we will need to do in order to fix this issue.

Instructions for addressing your remote to your DISH Receiver box
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button once and the channel up button once on the front of the receiver box.
  2. Once you are in the system info screen you will see remote address or primary remote address(TV1) and secondary remote address(TV2).
  3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the little white square.
  5. Press the pound (#) button
  6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 4 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

I am trying to program my DishTV universal remote to control my Apex DT250A digital tv converter and i cannot find a code that will work. Do you know the correct code to enter into my DishTV remote. Thanks...

Hello this is Nick Franta from DISH. There are a couple of codes you can try. The following link will provide the available codes we have. You would need to hold the SAT button down until the top 4 buttons light up, enter the code, then #. The SAT button should flash 3 times when the code is successful.

The tv is jammed. Remote is fine but have pressed the wrong button

It sounds as though you might have just accidentally pressed a button and changed the remote into an incorrect mode for example, tv, or aux modes. This would in fact prevent the remote from successfully working with the DISH Network receiver. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, once its back in SAT mode you will then be able to change channels, select menu, power receiver on and off, etc. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote to put the remote back in satellite mode, please just press that SAT once and then release, the SAT button should briefly light up red & then the light will go out, you should then be able to use the remote again, to ensure remote was successfully changed back to SAT mode, you can press select or any other button you chose & as long as the SAT button lights up when you press another remote control button- then your all set to go & everything should be working once again! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

SAT light stays lit but no functionality.new batts, still nothing. reset DVR, still nothing

beavs72,

If the Sat button stays lite with no function to control the receiver, either the Sat button is stuck or the remote has gone bad, especially if you already changed the batteries. You can call 1-800-333-3474, speak with Tech Support and if needed, they can send a new remote. I hope this helps.
