Replaces the belt on dirt devil dynamite pluse model put everything back together started it and it burt the new belt up that fast. I put it around the beater brush and the metal bar I thought it should go around, yet it seemed like there should be something else there to put the belt on. What do you suggest? Do you have picture I could go by?

The metal bar you put it around if the bar itself does not spin it is going to burn the belt up. Every thing that the belt is supposed to go around has to turn or the belt will rub on the piece not moving and brake.

is there suppose to be a pulley on the metal bar in the rear like the idler arm? or simply a straight metal bar?

I don't remember exactly what is on there but I would think there should be a pulley to keep the belt in line.

How do I keep the rear wheels from coming off my dynamite upright dirt devil

Plastic to plastic wears fast. I have repaired this problem by inserting small wooden dowels between the splits in the axles.( I have one of these machines in my home) Lubricate the axles with a non-petroleum grease afterward. I use Superlube available in most auto parts stores.

How do I change the belt on a dirt devil dynamite II cyclonic

Hi! Happy to help with that. Please follow the steps below.

  • Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the three (3) screws.
  • Lift and remove brushroll. Dispose of old belt.
  • Slide belt onto motor shaft.
  • Place new belt in area of brushroll without bristles.
  • With new belt in place, pull and slide brushroll into nozzle making sure that the brushroll end cap on the left is in the correct orientation. Rotate brushroll manually to make sure belt is properly aligned.
  • Reattach nozzle guard by carefully sliding back into place. Interlock rollers and nozzle guard by tilting rollers down towards the base while replacing the nozzle guard.
  • Be sure to replace all three (3) screws.
Hope this helps!

Belt drive keeps melting every belt we put on

usually that means something is stopping the brushes from spinning weather it is not greased well or just something still there I can't tell you but that is the broblem. You could try asking in a vac store/repair if they've had a fair amount of that model doing this and reccomomend a slightly different size .thickness belt to take up some slack

Did you check the brush roll, if the ends aren't turning freely, then it needs to be replaced also.

Ear piercing whistle

Its an inherent problem with any Dynammite model = the fact that the motor is at the front means that it is extremely noisy.
