If you need to get your out of waranty radio fixed, here is the place, They do a flat rate exchange if you havent opened it up. You call with the VIN and mileage and radio PN and they give you a shipping tag. If it unopened they will give you a flat rate exchange, otherwise they fix yours and it takes a week or so,

I bought a 06 ultra, and I can not get the CB to work, does it require a program? code? can it be done at home? everything else works great,

CB module is a auto-detect through the radios CAN BUS data system. There is no flash or programing required. If you press the "com" button on the radio, it should bring up the CB menu. If it does not display, check the wiring to the CB module and make sure it did not loose power.

I have a 2003 harley road glide with stereo. I have the rear speakers on the detachable tour pack. Also on the tour pack is a 10 or 12 pin connector to what appears to be an amp? All of the wiring is...

Front speaker output comes from the amp, which you removed with the tour pack. You will need to wire the speakers directly to the radio speaker out wires to function without the amp

Check the connectors at the CB and antenna, vibration may have caused them to come loose.

My 2010 Ultra Classic with 200 miles has cd skip. Store bought home made and mp3 all skip. Bike was ok for first 50 miles. Sometimes it switches to the weatherband. Plugged in ipod as alternate and...

Radio switching to weatherband is an indication that the weather alert function of the CB is turned on. If the weather channel transmits an alert signal, it will switch to weatherband. Speakers cutting out may be your VOX setting is too sensitive or the squelch setting on the CB is too sensitive. Lower both the VOX and squealch and see if that works. The unit sends fine and recieves but the feedback during sending is random and loud.

Early generation CB modules had a issue with over modulation. Check the serial number of the CB module and have your dealer check it against the range of modified serial numbers.

2005 Ultra Classic CB transmits fine, does not receive at all . Replaced headset and cables, no luck.

Have someone check your SWR readings (using a SWR meter) on the antenna. This should give you some information on reception.

2001 Ultra CB radio does not transmit. It receives fine. When you key the mike, the CB radio display (squelch) goes blank, headset sidetone is very weak.

hi the radio internall will have a driver and final transistor these are for the output signal or tx. you might find that the final transistor is faulty and needs replacing these fail due to incorrect swr or tuning of the antenna or cable / connector shorts. dont over look a bad microphone connection wiring on either end and internally on the ptt switch

most common driver is 2sc2166 and 2sc1969 for 27mhz amm & ssb

Harmon/Karden 2006 Radio/CB/CD Passanger control does not work

The passenger controls on the rear speakers are pretty easy to diagnose.  The wire for Volume up is Pink/white, the volume down is gray/white.  If the Pink/white wire is shorted to ground somewhere, then as soon as you turn on the radio, it will be like having the volume selector pushed up, and it makes sense how you describe it goes to mute and then returns to full volume as soon as you let go.   You don't say what model it is (I doubt it's a Road Glide, gotta be an Ultra), so it's not too hard to get at.  Pull the outer fairing and look on the back of the HK Radio.  There are 2 big connectors, when looking from the front you want the connector on the right.  Pin 23 is down volume, pin 34 is up volume for the rear controls ONLY.  So I would check the continuity to ground at pin 34 first, in other words pull the connector off the back of the radio, take a test lead and hook one end to +12v. Touch the tip to any grounded metal and it should light.  Now touch the tip to pin 34 on the harness side of the connector.  If the test light lights up, you have a short to ground on the pink/white wire.  Now go to the right rear speaker on the tour-pak and disconnect the 6 pin connector and try the test again.  The pink/white goes from pin 34 on the radio and runs through the harness to the passenger controls and nowhere else.  It shouldn't be grounded anywhere.  Let me know what you find out.

02 Ultra radio switches from cb to radio on its on

06 and newer CB modules have a weather alert feature that will switch to a radio station in case of an alert. The radio stations sometime transmit the signal by mistake. Check to see if your CB has this feature and if it does, turn it off
