Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

Hello: I have a Panasonic SC-HT400 Home Theater System. It had been operating flawlessly ever since I bought it back in 2002, up until today that I found "F70" reading on the receiver's display. The manual says "Turn the unit off, disconnect the AC power supply cord, and consult your dealer". I did all that but the problem is my dealer was Yahoo Shopping and I am in VENEZUELA. What does "F70" mean? Is my receiver toast? Hope not! Here's the manual: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Audio/Home-Theater/Receivers/model.SC-HT400 Thanks! Raul Valderrama Valencia, Venezuela.

Regretably, no. I took it to an authorized Panasonic service and they couldn't fix it since the required spare part (the MPU card) is no longer available. I already got a new HT system.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Subwoofer Connection: Speaker wire to Mono RCA

The easiest solution to use your subwoofer is to buy an amp for it. Any old stereo receiver from a garage sale will probably do just fine.

  1. Connect the mono RCA subwoofer output from your Sony with a 1xRCA-to-2xRCA splitter to both the left and right input of the cheap reciever's tape or aux input
  2. connect both speaker outputs of the cheap reciever to the speaker input on your subwoofer. make sure both black (-) outputs on the reciever connect to the black input on the sub, and the red outputs (+) on the reciever are both connected to the red input on the subwoofer.
  3. make sure the cheap receiver's volume is all the way down. turn your Sony up to about the loudest you'll listen to it. turn up the subwoofer amp until it's loud enough to sound good.
  4. leave the subwoofer amp alone, the Sony volume will all you ever need to touch from now on.

You can even now turn off your subwoofer / adjust the volume easily now!

SOURCE: Panasonic SA-HE100 5.1 system error code F70

I was able to fix this problem by replacing a fuse. Remove the cover (7 screws). Directly behind the fan are 2 boards with 5 fuses on them. The boards are 1 over the other. The fuse I replaced was labeled F5 and on the top board with the fuse facing down on the underside of the board.

SOURCE: Replacing a Surround Sound System Receiver

the difference is the "same speaker connections"
the front and rear will connect the same but the subwoofer is amplified by the HT75 , and the HE75 does not have an internal amp for the subwoofer speaker , only a "pre output"(has to be amplified)

SOURCE: WHERE TO BUY POWER CORD

The basic power cord that goes to the wall outlet???

There's nothing special about the original power cord, so I'd go to Radio Shack and get it for $8

Or you may have an unused one from other device lying around the house.

Problems connecting phillips tv to panasonic sc-pt660 home theate

I just bought a sc-pt660, I have a philips tv too, the TV only available output is digital coax but the home theater only has digital optical input, you may buy a digital coax to optical converter like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Coaxial-Optical-Converter/dp/B0002J2MV4/ref=pd_cp_e_3?pf_rd_p=413863501&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000I98ZQY&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1BS8MKCZ1CWQR071S8RN

Alternativelly you can also use the headphone output that is near the side input in the TV and buy an RCA adapter like this one from radioshack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103225

We have a SC-HT65 home theater audio system and somehow the display screen is completely black like it has been turned off somehow. How do i get the display screen back on?

I had the same problem here with my SC-HT65 that I bought today. I was trying to connect it to a TiVO DVR, and it was blanking the screen out, and only showing 2 or so seconds of video at poweroff and poweron. After some searching and trialling, I discovered that the HDCP bitstream coming from the TiVO was incompatible with the HDMI decoder on the panasonic. By separating the bitstream AV (I utilised a digital audio connection to separate the AV, whether via coax or toslink(fibre) - I used toslink, the video stream then started working properly. Hope this helps

Cheers
