Question about Toshiba NB205-N210 Netbook

1 Answer

I've had Toshiba Netbook NB-205 for a year, and the display won't show. The fan will come on for a like two seconds and then cut off. If I need to replace the fan, then I'm fine with that, but if there's an easier way to fix the problem, I would really like to know. Help would be really great right now!!!

Try removing the battery and starting it up with only AC power.

Sometimes it doesn't charge properly and will turn off after a second. Removing the battery will sometimes fix this.

Make sure you are getting charge lights as well. If the AC adapter isn't working anymore, it can cause exactly what you're experiencing.

Please leave feedback if you found this helpful. Thanks.

My toshiba nb 305 wont start up, do you have any idea why? i was typing when suddenly it turn off, i tried to to turn it on but only the "on" button will power up but the screen wont start. after...

@fitz_quinto

Try to do the following:

1. Remove the battery
2. Press and Hold the power button for 20secs (this will drain the power out of the computer)
3. Insert the AC adapter and turn the unit ON

If the above procedure won't work, this is a sign that the computer's motherboard might have gone bad and you need to have the unit serviced. If you're still under warranty, call 1-800-457-7777 (for US) and 1-800-663-0378 (for Canada).

Good luck.

Nb 205 blank screen

Is your screen blank when you are trying to turn it on? Do the fans run and such but nothing shows up? If not then I don't know.. but if it is put you laptop in the freezer for an hour. Mine had that problem, but you won't be able to turn it off... ever again... because then it won't start up again. I would suggest to check this out as well if it is that problem. http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f108/toshiba-nb200-wont-boot-492391.html

Toshiba NB 205 connects to router but not internet

The wireless configuration is set differently on routers, eg the SSID, and encryption. You need to configure the wireless LAN card in the laptop to connect/communicate with the different routers.
Some wireless LAN card allow you to setup different profiles/settings for different wireless routers. Eg one setting for the office and one for home, which allows easy connection to the Internet by selecting the appropriate profile/setting.
