Question about Linksys WRT120N Router
Have you tried the laptop on another wireless network? It should release and renew it automatically when you reboot the laptop without having to reset the router. And it sounds like the router itself is glitzed. But i would try using the laptop wireless on another router somewhere and also try connecting some other wireless device to the router to analyze the problem. You could also try setting the laptop's ip to a fixed ip number instead of obtain automatically (it must be in the same range as the router - first three numbers needs to be same as the router's) and see if it's the dhcp that is the problem.
A few years ago there were a lot of glitzy linksys routers ...
