Dell 3100cn printer prints individual colors fine. When printing full color picture the paper wraps around the fuser. Tried new fuser - same problem. Any suggestions?

Open all doors and remove cartridge and fuser check for paper
wrapped around rollers.

This jamming has to do with third-party toner cartridges being used. I had this problem using Xerox toner cartridges and found that I would have no jamming if I used at least 2 hp-brand toner cartridges and the rest Xerox. I then used a different brand of 3rd party toner cartridges that would not jam as long as just the black cartridge was a genuine HP black toner cartridge. This issue has been confirmed even by the manufacturers of the generic toner cartridges. Hope that helps!

Smuding typically occurs when you print on a heavier paper without changing the settings. By changing the settings to a thick paper type, the page will be send through the printer more slowly. this will likely eliminate the smudging.

Contamination in the laser path - 1. Clean the laser path. (Remove the laser/scanner assembly and clean the lens.) 2. Replace the laser/scanner assembly

Defective fuser - Replace the fuser assembly.

Lack of toner or faulty toner cartridge - Redistribute the toner in the toner cartridge. If the problem continues, replace the toner cartridge.

Dirty Corona Wire - Clean the Corona Wire.

Defective Drum - Mostly applies to B&W printers. Clean the drum or replace the drum.

Dell printers are junk. But you have put a lot of money into this thing. Check the alignment of the black drum, could be that something is keeping if off track a little bit.

All color printers have a calibration mode.Essentially it makes sure that everything starts and stops at the same time.It should be accessible on the contol panel

Sounds like the fuser. Try heavier paper settings (you have to change them in all 3: driver, printer itself and program you are printing from). If that doesn't work replace the fuser.

The print toner cartridge has a small trap door that opens to let the toner adhere to the paper. Remove the toner cartridge and locate this moveable panel on it. This roller is VERY sensitive, and can scratch VERY easy. Use a soft LINT FREE cloth to GENTLY wipe the colored roller if you see any toner build up. If that does not clear up the problem you will need to replace your Fuser Unit which will need to be ordered from Dell or a 3rd party supplier. I'd suggest it is a sensor issue. Since the error comes up, the printer stops responding - even if everything is okay.
