Most inputs are not true 5.1 surround; with the exception of the mic and many movies. You will not have all of them working from, say an ipod or TV unless you choose a sound mode that mimics 5.1 or grater from a 2.1 source. These are modes like Pro Logic (1&2) and often "entertainment mode" or something simmilar that plays the sound out of all 6 channels.

All speakers on x-530 pass test but no sound comes from the center speaker when movies or music is played

Is the speaker system set up in Windows as a 5.1 speaker system? If so, the problem with the sound is the program used to play the audio. For example if you are watching a movie and the player used does not support 5.1 then it will not play the audio properly. If the sound works correctly playing a game in 5.1 you should be able to figure it out from there.

Sound from one speaker with mic plugged in.

Hi I am Vortash it sounds to me that this is linked to the realtek program off shutting off the speakers when the earphones are attatched , it is confusing the Mic plug on one channel as a speaker plug .. check in the advanced section of your mixer settings that you have not got the box ticked that says treat all inputs the same .. and the other that says mute rear when front plugged in ? as does mine .. ( same system that was my problem yours may be diffrent ) if this fails uninstall your realtek drivers and uncheck the realtek devices in device manager unistall them and rebboot the computer installing new drivers .. hope this helps regards Vortash

Line in / Mic jack help

So we're talking PC here, right?

I don't understand what you want to record. Going from the PC Headphone jack to the PC Line IN might be unwise in order to prevent a feedback loop. External (non-PC) source and PC MIC might work but you would probably want to monitor it on headphones again because of possibe feedback.

Does your MIC work?

Right click the speaker icon again and select Adjust Audio Properties or open Control Panel and select Sounds & Audio Devices. Select the box to place the icon on the Taskbar for future use.

Right click on the little speaker icon in your Taskbar and select Open Volume Control, if it's there. From there you're on your own. I have a sound card so I don't know what you will see. Look around, there may be a bunch of audio outputs and inputs with Master and individual volume & balance controls plus one for your Mic. Make sure it's not muted.

No sound when playing back video

As written on page 15 of the camera manual it states: "You cannot listen to the audio with this camera when a movie is played back. To listen to the audio, connect with external outputs such as a TV, a speaker, etc."

The specification breakdown of this model also states the camera has no speaker. I would imagine the perforated areas on the camera at the front and side of the device are for the MIC.

Kenwood receiver, and the mic input problem

Does the gtr still work on the unit? The mic jack may be bad / dirty and not routing regular audio. Try plugging the gtr cord in and out a few times. Or inspect the jack itself for tarnish, bad solder joints. Fine sand paper can be used to clean the contacts on the jack, if it's not a sealed jack.

Hope that helps...
