Hi Guy,
I believe that what you mean is 'Waste Ink Tank Is Full' error on Canon MP520.
To fix this problem, first you need to reset waste ink counter of the printer then you should replace the ink absorber with new one.

My canon pixma mp 250 will not scan code error shown 2,140,2. find the answer my email id

This could be because the ink cartridges may be empty or been replaced with compatible types.
Solution:
You could try to do a reset by pressing and holding the reset button (red triangle) for 5 seconds. If that does not clear the error then try pressing and holding both reset and maintenance (pliers and screwdriver picture) for over 5 seconds. The flashing error code should change to normal counting display digit 1, and the scanner become usable.

Error code U052. I know this has to do with the chip in the ink cartridge. I changed all cartridges and still the same code. I cannot use any function on this MP530 with this error code.

Please remove all cartridges. Using a moist cloth clean the golden contacts on cartridge as well as printer. DO NOT touch nozzle of cartridge. Dont insert the cartridge yet.

Please do this :
1. Remove the power cable from printer. Remove the USB cable that connects printer to computer (remove it from printer as well as computer's usb port)
2. Press the printer power button and keep pressed for 3 minutes then release
3. Now plug in the power cable and usb cable (connect printer to computer) and power on the printer.

Now insert cartridges and see if error goes away.

Try the Waste Ink Counter Reset Manual for "Service mode"
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable.
2. Press and hold the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (LED) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button, the indicator (LED) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (LED) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.

Then try another 4 steps to Reset Waste Ink Tank Counter
STEP 1:- Disconnect printer from AC power
STEP 2:- Press and HOLD the POWER button, and connect printer to AC power
STEP 3:- Release the POWER button
STEP 4:- Press the POWER button again

My printer won't turn on. when trying to print it gives error message 300 which says to check all connections. I've checked all connections and it still won't turn on.

You may want to check to make sure the cables all are good with a good connection, and if that does not work try to reset the printer. Here are 2 possible solutions I have found to reset the printer.
canon_pixma_mp520_buttons_03.gif Procedure:

a) Switch the printer OFF

b) Press buttons 1 + 2 + 3 and 4 (simultaneously using four fingers)

c) Keep pressing this four buttons for 10 seconds

d) Release the On/Off button (number 4) (Keeping pressing the others)

e) After a few seconds (when the printer go ON) you can release buttons 1, 2, 3

Here is another reset proceedure I have found as well if the first one did not work:

1) Turn the printer ON

2) Press and hold "Cancel" (No. 2) button for 5-20 seconds
or
2) Press and hold "OK" (No. 3) button for 5-20 seconds

The printer doesnt feed the paper properly, it takes it in at an angle and jams. I have tried everythign to sort it.

when the printer does not appear to respond to commands. This can include attempting to print from the computer or on the device itself. This can happen when the memory in the printer does not refresh properly. One way to correct this problem is to restart the computer. Another way to correct this problem is to disconnect the printer from the wall outlet. Wait about ten seconds and the plug the printer back into the outlet. This should reset the memory on the device and allow it to function properly

Pixma mp520 scanner won't scan

I emailed Canon Tech Support (after searching their MP FAQ) and received this response. It worked for me:

Please follow these steps to set the push button event for the MP520
scanner:
1. Click on the Windows button and then Control Panel.
2. Double-click 'Scanners and Cameras'. For Vista users, if 'Scanners and Cameras' is not listed, click 'Switch to Classic View' on the left and then try again.
3. Double-click on the MP520.
4. Next, click on the Events tab.
5. For the 'Send to this application' option, select ScanGear driver, MP Navigator, or imaging application you would like to use for the scan button event in the list.
6. Click Apply or OK to save your settings.

Canon MP520 cartridge swap and ink refill

Canon MP520 multifunctional device - deactivation of the ink level counter
1. You can do it only when the printer counter releases the warning message - "the ink cartridge is nearly empty" = yellow warning mark

2. You have to do this procedure four times - for every cartridge one times
3. At the screen you will see three warning messages
- for the first one press "OK"
- for the second and third one press "Yes"
4. The fourth message tells you that you can do the ink level counter deactivation by pressing the "Stop/Reset" button (7) for more than 5 seconds. Do it.

Later you can see another type of warning message at the screen:
eac72ff.jpg

In this case you can not follow the previous procedure - there will not be any other warning messages.
Just follow the message on the screen and press the "OK" button (5) and you can print.
Unfortunately - I do not know for how long time it works.

You have to manualy check the ink level and refill (change) the cartridge before it is completely empty! You might brake your warranty!
When you insert the new original ink cartridge, the counter will work properly again.
