Question about Harman Kardon AVR 140 Receiver

1 Answer

I have Harmon Kardon AV140 connected to 6 Klipsch speakers. All of sudden I know longer have any sound coming out of my front speakers. Everything was working fine a few days ago. Did we hit a button in error that would have changed the configuration of the reciever? I have tried with the TV, DVD and still no sound coming from the front speakers. Can you tell me what i should check. Thanks

Only the front speakers failing? All others ok?

There is NO configuration that would have NO front speakers.

Go back to basics, open the manual and use test tones for speaker verification.

Do you know if the harman/kardon avr125 reciever is 3d capable?thanks ..mrmitchfinance@yahoo.com

Hi,
Actually Home theater sound, is 3D. (Three Dimentional) Your receiver, using surround speakers reproduces 3D sound.
i.e. It is Left to Right, and Front to Rear. Thus it's 3D. If your get a 3D TV, your sound will be just fine because it doesn't come from the set. The sound SOURCE is the DVD player, CD player or Cable Box. If you use digital audio outputs (optical cable or orange colored RCA cables) from these items connected into the Harmon-Kardon, your will get the full Home Theater sound. The Harmon Kardon does not have HDMI inputs however it will not need them for the purposes of sound. Your Receiver is a high quality unit. If you want the thrill of 3D TV, go ahead and get one. After you have set it up, if you then decide you want to go to 7.1 or some other SOUND upgrade, go ahead. One thing you should know, is that there is not a whole lot of audio quality improvement available after 5.1. Unless you have a very large living room. The real quality counts when choosing the speakers and sub woofer that go into the system, not the amount of speakers you have.
I have done a number of high end home theater installations and the experience of hearing the systems (mostly 5.1) has been a thrill for the owner.
I hope this helps you,
Best Regards,
Mark

I have a bose v20 and a harmon kardon receiver. Should I be returning the bose system, buy just the speakers, and and outside subwoofer, or what is the best system for watching movies etc? What would be...

If you have the harmon kardon receiver, check out this reasonably priced system. You can actually find it cheaper than at this website but I have these speakers and, when paired with the Klipsch sub-woofer, it makes movie watching an unbelievable experience.

Speakers stopped working

Hello there!
It sound a power adapter failure,
check your speakers for power failure, or bad connections,
check also your sound card, mixer, and drivers.
perhaps if a onboard sound is disable for some reason.
check that too.
Good Luck
