I have a ps3 slim and I'm getting error code 8002A212, what does it mean?

What EXACTLY happens, i mean does it beep, how many beeps, color of lights, do the lights blink, etc. Your PS3 slim could have overheated and now have the YLOD the PS3 fats had, the slims can get this too its just less likely.

The code means "dirty or damaged disc". The PS3 has encountered some kind of problem reading the disc.

Possibly the laser could be having problems, possibly the disc.

Try another game disc. If it works, the game disc you are trying to start is somehow damaged.

If it doesn't, the laser most likely has a problem.

If the laser is the problem you can try and clean it with a DVD laser lens cleaner like this one :

PS3 ERROR CODE 8001050F This error is caused by an issue with the internal clock of your Playstation 3 hardware which causes you to be signed out of the Playstation Network.
What to do:
A bug has caused the internal clock of your Playstation 3 to be set to January 1, 2000.
According to Sony, unless you own a PS3 Slim system, do not use or start your PS3 system until a fix is found, which should be within 24 hours of March 1, 2010.
If you use your PS3 before the fix is released, you may risk losing trophy data and other game data which will not be able to be recovered.
Since the estimated release date has passed, you should update your PS3 system to the latest firmware.
If you already have the latest firmware installed, return the unit to Sony for repair or replacement.
If your PS3 is still under warranty, the repair or replacement will be free. If not, Sony will charge a flat fee of $150.
PS3 Slim systems are not affected.

if your wireless router has a firewall on it, it will send up that message. I had a problem like that with my Xbox. I had to go into the network setting on the console and put in the wireless router name, router number, etc.. You can also call SONY helpline,(should be inside the PS3 manual) Hope this helps.
