Question about MGE Pulsar Ellipse ASR 1500 (MGE66784) UPS System

1 Answer

I own an MGE Ellipse 1500VA UPS, connected to a 750W computer. For the past 15 months it has worked well and prevented the computer from power surges. Today it failed to do so. In fact, on certain power surges, it did not work at all, pretty much as if it wasn't there. I confirm that the computer is connected to the correct plugs supplied by the battery. In addition to that, no unusual lights are on. Only the main button indicating "normal operation" is on in constant green. On top of the above it does not seem to respond to pressing buttons. Pressing the reset button on its back side does nothing, and pressing the main front button to turn it off also does nothing, even when pressed continuously for more than 30 seconds.

IT was probably fried in one of these surges, this can happen if they are extremely frequent

Hello, could you please let me know the battery type of MGE premium ellipse pulsar 800VA ups? Thanks in advance.

The batteries in an UPS are sealed lead acid batteries. The voltage and amp hour rating depends upon the VA rating of your UPS.
I suggest you shut down your UPS and remove the batteries and get replacement ones that are the same rating as the ones in the UPS. Be careful of the size of the battery, they are a neat fit inside the UPS battery compartment.
