Hi Miguel
1. Go to Start - Network
2. Your Router should be there, right click it and go to device webpage
3. This will open up your web browser. depending on your type of router you may get asked to log in
4. Go to somthing that looks like it should contain wifi encription settings
5. select WPA2 - Personal as your encription type as this is a strong type of encription
6. Set your password and save settings (this will disconnect you from your network
7. To connect to your network, do what you did to connect to it the first time and then you should be prompted for a passkey. Input the one you just created.
8. Enjoy your connection to a safe and secure network

This has to be changed in your routers settings, in your internet browser type 192,168.1.1 and you can access these settings, there should be a security tab or menu where you can add a wep/wpa/wpa2 password in order from least secure to most. remember to vote!

Probably you need to coonect to your wifi router and set a password
go to start click run type in cmd and when you press enter you will get a DOS box (black and white text) type IPconfig and press enter in the box
if it scrolls past fast scroll up to a place where it says Default gateway under your wireless adapter connection (you may have more than one such as ethernet etc.)
this will be a number something like 192.168.1.1
type this number into the URL bar of your internet browser (where it says www.fixya.com/blah blah now)
it should prompt you with your routers config page it may ask for a password, if you have not set one try admin admin otherwise look up your router here http://www.routerpasswords.com/ and it should tell you the username and password
once in
find the section for router wireless options select WPA (it easier) and type in a phrase that you will remember. set or apply save and exit where possible.
the next time you connect to your wireless conection it will prompt you for this phrase. (only once then your laptop will be paired and it wont ask again) anyone else trying to connect will get the same, unless they know your WEP password then they wont get on.

Where would i find the ssid number on my kyocera cell phone?

An SSID is the name assigned to a wi-fi network. It CAN be a number, but is often an alphanumeric name or value. Unless your phone is being used as a wi-fi hotspot, it won't have an SSID of its own, but it will search for and list SSIDs of any wi-fi networks it finds in its range. That list will tell you whether the network is secure (requires a passcode) or unsecured (open to anyone). Unsecured networks should be used cautiously as they can be havens for hackers bent on stealing anything they can find on your system. If you choose a secured network to connect to, you will need to know and enter the passcode of the network to connect.

How do I make my iPod Touch Connect to an Unsecure Network

Unsecured wireless Internet networks are available in many cafes and public spaces. An unsecured network is a wireless Internet connection that does not require a password. Use your iPod Touch Wi-Fi capability to connect to these networks and the Internet. Although excellent for surfing and email, avoid carrying out banking or financial information into an unsecured network, because there is a possibility that the signal is intercepted.

1. Open the Settings menu of your iPod Touch. It is the gray gear icon on the home screen.

2. Tap "WiFi" and move it to "On" if needed. If your Wi-Fi is already activated, you will see a pop-up asking if you have the unsecured network. Some companies, like Starbucks, have a "Log In" screen appears automatically.

3. Click "Yes" or "Join" for the network to automatically connect when prompted. The text may vary depending on the company, and you may need to read and agree to the terms and conditions statement. If no login screen appears, wait until you play for scanning available Wi-Fi signals. The list is displayed.

4. Select the network name you want to join the list. An unsecured network has a password, so you will not be asked to give.

5. Click on "automatic network in the future" when asked if you want to do.

6. Wait until the light of the Wi-Fi indicator in the upper left corner of the touch. This indicates that you are online and ready to ride.
Where can I get free internet for lap top hp

I do not believe you can get free internet for laptop unless you are using a public wi-fi service. If your laptop has got a wireless interface then you can scan for available wi-fi networks and then select an unsecured one with the most strong signal. Some public wi-fi hot spots give you a temporary code to use. Make sure you have a strong virus protections software when you use free internet and try not to use it for banking services unless you have a very secure banking website with encryption keys and devices.

How to tune in kindle to wi fi?

From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
Select Settings, and then select view next to Wi-Fi Settings.
In the list of detected networks, choose a network to connect to it.
If your Wi-Fi network and router support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), your Kindle will detect it.
If you don't see your network in the list, you need to add the network manually.
If the network is protected by a password or WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), enter the password and then select Submit. If you don't know the Wi-Fi network password, contact the person who set up the Wi-Fi network. After you connect to a Wi-Fi network, your Kindle automatically connects to it again whenever that network is in range. If more than one network is in range, your Kindle automatically connects to the last network used.

Linksys WRT160 router doesn't work

Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button
If you have client devices, such as wireless adapters, that
support Wi-Fi Protected Setup, then you can
use Wi-Fi Protected Setup to automatically
configure wireless security for your wireless
network(s).

To use Wi-Fi Protected Setup, run the Setup
Wizard, or refer to the “Wireless > Basic Wireless
Settings” section of “Chapter 3: Advanced
Configuration".

Wi-Fi Protected Setup LED (Blue/Amber) It
lights up blue when wireless security is
enabled. The LED flashes blue for two
minutes during Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
The LED lights up amber if there is an error
during the Wi‑Fi Protected Setup process. Make
sure the client device supports Wi‑Fi Protected
Setup. Wait until the LED is off, and then try again.
The LED flashes amber when a Wi‑Fi Protected
Setup session is active, and a second session
begins. The Router supports one session at a
time. Wait until the LED is off before starting the
next Wi-Fi Protected Setup session.
