You can actually go with just buying a bulb. I have seen many cases where televisions stopped displaying a picture due to a worn out bulb. The noise is also from the weak bulb.

Loud pop

Check the lamp.
Pull it out and look at it.
More than likely the lamp has shattered inside the set and needs replaced.
Bulb replacement is made for consumers and can easily be replaced.
Need any more information, respond to this post and I will reply.

i`m afraid the flash-bulb is broken, you still can use external flash such as SB 600, SB 800 or SB 900
another option is using tripod while taking pictures without flash, but you have to be patient and not recommend for moving objects

hope this advice help you with your problem

Canon Internal Flash will not Pops up and will not flash. Is there something I can check for or replace? I have a cannon rebel xti, the external flash works great, the button to make the flash pop up will...

Is it trying to pop the flash and making noise, or is there no noise at all?
If it's audibly trying and it won't pop up, it's stuck and something is blocking it. May need to send it in.
If there is no sound, then something is making it think that there's an external flash attached. Check out this photo here:

The flash made a pop noise like the bulb failed. The camera works, but no flash. Are parts available or who can repair the camera? Thank you.

Hi Dear,

Yes your are correct in saying that the flash made a pop noise like a bulb failed.

The flash of a camera also consist of a bulb which when triggered give live for a very short span of time.

In your case as observed from your sayings, the flash bulb have failed. It is not a big issue.
As a camera is a delicate object. I would suggest you to take your camera to the authorized service station only and get the bulb replaced by the expert hands only.

Hope this will work out for you. If there are any more queries in this regard we would love to hear form you. We will be obliged to solve your issue.

Have a nice day.

Projector goes POP!

I think it's the bulb, the best would be to take it to the shop where you bought it - or any other good electronic goods shop - so they can test it. If its still under guarantee its better to take it to the dealer. Mine had to have the bulb replaced after only 8 months, but it was still under guarantee.

EXACT same problem. Tonight I tried to take a picture and heard a loud pop sound but I didn't think it was my camera... anyway it took the picture but didn't use the flash. Later, my sister went to take a picture with the flash and it made the same loud pop noise and now the camera wont work if the flash is on.
