check for kinks in the pipe or restrictions to the flow in the pipes before it gets to the washer, if all is ok then check the filter on the outside of the water connector on the machine for dirt

if you confirm all is clear and the flow of water is not the problem before the machine, replace the cold water solenoid

Excellent use of your deductive reasoning skills. You may be right on both assumptions. It is not uncommon for the pump or the drain hoses to develop leaks over a period of time. You will need to remove the outside casing of the washer, however to get a good look. This link explains how to replace the washer pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

Even if it is not the pump, it gives you necessary steps on how to disassemble the washer. Step 7 of the write up tells you where the pump is located. Inspect the two hoses for cracks and leaks as well.

NOTE: You will need to by-pass the lid switch, however, with the case removed in order to fill the washer with water. Or...you can fill the wash tub partially, shut the unit off, unplug the washer and remove the case and look for the leak that way as well. Let me know if you wish to attempt to by-pass the lid switch - this does not involve cutting and splicing any wires.

If you require further assistance please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore 80 series,CH2874165. Continues to fill with water and never starts to agitation. Will spin and drain no problem

In order for the filling to stop and the wash programme to begin, the brain needs to know there is enough water in the tub. There are a variety of methods of detecting the tub water level - pressure switch, float switch or electronic moisture detector.
These things tend to be placed outside the tub and connected by narrow hoses that sometimes perish and leak or become blocked with residue. Sometimes the switch itself fails...

600 series. Why is water leaking on the floor during filling?

The fill hoses could be leaking or loosely connected. The fill valve connection(s) could be stripped. The fill valve could be damaged/defective. If this is a top loader, the fill stream could be misdirected and running down the outside of the tub.

is the pump leaking?or you could have bad tub seals, follow the center trany shaft up to the tub and see if it leaks there,is it noisy when spinning, you gotta just get in there with a light and look around to see where the water is coming from,if you sent pictures they didn't show up,remove the front cover, take out the two screws that hold the console down, remove the two clips with a screw driver and unplug the lid switch wires and pull the cover back and remove it

Kenmore 80 series leaking

well you can try filling the outer tub separately.with what you mentioned, the problem is certainly not with the drain hose or the pump. fill the tub separately with some water and if the leak is seen then the problem is certainly with the outer tub corrosion or crack on it.

Washer Leaking from left front...

That would be your drain pump and/or drain hoses. You will need to access the inside of the washer by removing the outside casing to get a good view. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

The link explains how to replace the pump. Although you may not have a bad pump, it gives all the steps necessary to disassemble the washer to get to it. I would recommend you fill the tub about a third of the way then shut the washer off. This will fill the tub enough to determine where the leak may be coming from. Check both drain hoses for cracks or splits and make sure the clamps are tight. If the pump is leaking, it is NOT repairable. These are sealed units and will require replacing if damaged. You can purchase a new pump (if needed) at repairclinic.com. Just type in your complete model number and the pump should be listed as item number 3296 (part number 3363394).

This a simple job that requires not special tools to accomplish. I hope you find this information helpful.

no the timer doesn't control the water fill the pressure switch does you have three possibility's either the pressure switch is malfunctioning or a water valve is hanging open or the pressure switch pressure hose is leaking or off the tub the pressure switch is connected to the knob that lets you select the water level in the tub if you back out the two screws on the front or back of the end caps depending on the model you can pull the control panel forward and tilt it back to access the pressure switch its gold in color and has a clear latex hose attached to it also take the hose loose and blow through it to make sure its clear with the washer empty of course lol if you need more info just reply to me be glad to help water can also leak out from the pressure switch hose if a mouse has chewed through it or its come loose from the tub
