Why can't I play the Wii there are new batteries.

You have to sync the remotes to the Wii. Open the battery compartment on the Wii Remote. There should be a little red button. Press this button. Now, on the front of the Wii, there should be a little door compartment where the SD cards etc. go. Open this door and press the red button there, after you have pressed the red button on the Wii Remote.
Your Wii Remote should now be synced with the Wii Console.

I have 3 wii remotes was using one that had batteries it died so i replaced all remotes with new batteries and now none of them will sync or work they just turn off right away

After replacing the batteries, you may have to do a hard sync by pressing the sync button beside the SD slot on the Wii and the sync button on the back of the Wiimote underneath the battery cover. Both buttons are a kind of dark reddish-brown colour.

We received the wii system w/ a battery charger included ,but there were no instructions as to whether you can recharge batts. w/o having the them in the unit ,what the red, green light means what the...

Installing the Batteries
Important Note: If you would like to use rechargeable batteries, the only type of battery recommended are Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. When it comes to using rechargeable batteries, you must follow manufacturer guidelines for safety and proper usage. Failure to do so could cause damage to the Wii Remote and void the warranty.

  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote and insert two AA batteries, using the plus (+) and minus (-) guides in the Wii Remote's battery compartment to insert the batteries in the proper direction.
    wiiremotebatteryinsert.gif

  2. Be sure to insert the minus (-) end first when inserting new batteries, and remove the plus (+) end first when replacing the batteries.

  3. Replace the battery cover.

Wearing the Wrist Strap

  1. Place your hand through the wrist strap and hold the remote firmly in your hand. wiiremotewrist1.gif

  2. Slide the strap lock towards your wrist so that the strap will not fall off. Do not over tighten the strap lock so that it's uncomfortable. It should be tight enough to hold the wrist strap in place. wiiremotewrist2.gif

Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote included with your system should already be synchronized to your console. However, all additional Wii Remotes you use with your system also need to be synced in order to function properly..
There are two different modes of synchronizing (syncing):
  • STANDARD MODE - The Standard Mode procedure is used when adding additional Wii Remotes to your system or if you want to re-synchronize your original Wii Remote. Once synchronized, the Wii Remote will stay synced to the console unless you overwrite the settings by syncing the remote to a different console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please click here.

  • ONE TIME MODE - This mode allows you to temporarily use your remote on a Wii console other than your own, or to use a friend's remote on your console. It can also be used to change the order of the Wii Remotes, without the need to turn off the Wii console. One Time Mode does not delete the Standard Mode setting stored in the Wii Remote. In this mode, the Wii Remote will only communicate with the Wii console while the power is on. When the power is turned off, the Wii Remote will lose its sync with the Wii Console. For instructions on One Time Mode setup, please click here.
Note: Only a Wii Remote in Standard Mode can turn the Wii console power ON or OFF.

My handsets wont sincronise with the system, I have fitted new batteries

Follow this procedure:
1. Turn the Wii console on and wait until the "Health & Safety" screen appears (don't press A).
2. Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console, just below the disc drive, and press and hold the red SYNC button for 15 seconds. This will clear all synced Wii Remotes from the console.
3. Resync the Wii Remote by removing the battery cover and pressing the red "SYNC" button. Do this for all Wii Remotes you wish to use, and test for proper response.
4. If the steps above do not work, remove the batteries of the Wii Remote and leave them out for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Reinsert the batteries and sync the Wii Remote again. Test for proper response.
If after removing the batteries for several minutes, and resyncing the Wii Remote, your still unable to get the Wii Remotes to work, try syncing another Wii Remote if available.
* If another Wii Remote works, then your previous Wii Remote will need to be repaired.
* If multiple Wii Remotes do not work, or you only have one Wii Remote, a repair of the Wii console is necessary.

if your Wii Remote is not responding It may need to be synced up. I have given you both ways of syncing your Wii. After doing this Please don't forget to rate me as " Very Helpful" & feedback is appreciated - thanks

Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote included with your system should already be synchronized to your console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please read below.
Standard Mode SynchronizationNote: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote.

  5. wiiremotesynchstandard.gifThis procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.

One Time Mode SynchronizationNote: This mode temporarily removes Standard Mode synchronization setup for all Wii Remotes until the power of the Wii console is turned off. When the power is turned back on again, the Standard Mode settings will return.
  1. Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.
  2. installation.gif
  3. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.

  5. Select the Reconnect Option.
  6. wiiremotesynchotm1.gif
  7. Press the 1 and 2 Buttons at the same time on the Wii Remote that you want to synchronize with the console. If you are syncing multiple Wii Remotes, press the 1 and 2 Buttons on each Wii Remote immediately (without a significant pause) in the order you want them synced. The order in which you synchronize Wii Remotes determines the player order (1 through 4) for multiplayer games. The Player LED will blink during the syncing process. When the blinking stops, the connection is complete.

Remotes can't be found

When you change the batteries for a Wii Remote (in my experience) you have to re-sync (reconnect) them to the Wii console. To do this, there is a button on the Wii Remote by the batteries that either says sync or will show curved bars on I think i red button. This same button should be located on the Wii console. You have to push the sync button on the Wii then on the remote to sync them together. This should solve your connection problem.

Wii remote wont work after installing wii fit

From Nintendo:
  1. Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

  2. Turnthe power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safetyscreen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find ared button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to geta clean start to begin the process described below.

  3. After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

    1. Withthe first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on theback of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below thebatteries.

    2. Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

    3. Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

    4. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
    5. This sync procedure (steps "a" through "d" above) must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.
