Question about Maxent MX-42HPM20 42 in. Plasma HDTV
Plasma tvs have horizontal and vertical buffer boards. There are two on the bottom and two on the sides. Without the buffer boards only partial sections of the screen will show picture (even though entire panel is "on"). You need to pin-point the buffer that is responsible and replace it. There are microcontrollers on these with molded heatsinks and are next to impossible to repair, thus a board swap will be needed. You can identify a burnt buffer by the smell (first step) and marks near the microcontrollers (second step)
