Hi, this is because the test period has expired, you have to buy and/or register the product for the functionality to go back to normal.

I have a platinum keyboard, and am having trouble getting the cut/paste keys to work. Is there a switch or key press I am missing?

Cut and Paste controls for windows are via the control key.
i.e. Control+C copies the highlighted item.
Control+V pastes the item back into the current window.
Control+X Cuts the highlighted item (i.e. removes as well as copies it)

How do I post a message on my timeline on facebook and send it, I am using a tablet not a pc.

You might try COPY/PASTE:
CLIPBOARD
A virtual, temporary storage area. Information (in the form of text, files, graphics, sound or video) can be copied to the Clipboard from one program or location and pasted elsewhere. The Clipboard can only hold one block of information at a time. Whenever something is copied to the Clipboard, it replaces whatever was there before. There are many platforms which support the Clipboard function.

COPY TO CLIPBOARD
Point mouse cursor to beginning point in text to be copied. Press and hold the "ctrl" key on the keyboard and click mouse. Entire section of text will be highlighted in blue. [NOTE: If only a portion of what you wish to copy is highlighted, then move mouse cursor to end of text, press and hold the "shift" key and click mouse]. Right click mouse and select "copy" from the menu window that opens.

PASTING FROM CLIPBOARD
Open the window you wish to place the copy (e-mail, FB profile page--status box, etc), click where you wish to place copy, then right click and select "paste" from the menu window that opens. NOTE: Edit as you would normally typed text.

[shortcut paste: press and hold ctrl key and press letter "V"].

What does f1to12 do

the "f" keys are called "Function Keys" some have "universal" functions - F3 will bring up a "find text" function in most programs and "F5" will refresh the screen/web page etc. The other "F" keys get functions assigned by the program you are using at the time. You can also assign an un-used "F-key" to a deskop shortcut by right-clicking the icon, selecting "Properties" then click in the text box next to "Short cut key" then - Press the F-key you want to use as a shortcut for that Icon. (F number should appear in the text box). Click "save" or "OK" and close the Property box. Now press the F-Key you programmed into the Icon - it should execute whatever the Icon is for.. And that is was the F-keys do.

I highlight portions of webpage and right click copy but when i try to paste in folder the paste does not work

After you high lite it try pressing CTRL-C aka copy and then paste with CTRL-V

Some web pages disable these functions and don't tell you so try a different page as well. So the webpage won;t let you copy through the browser while the basic keyboard one will work. If that dioesn't work you either need to save or print the entire page.

Synaptics pointing device ceased to function

Load up device manager , highlight your computer (top in the list) and right click - select scan for new hardware - See if it detects your pointing device now

If it does , right click it , update driver etc and reinstall the drivers for it

If not , it might be a hardware problem , try getting it repaired by toshiba if its still under warranty
