Hi Jackpot, no luck I had tried that already but tried again.

  • rappitup1 Mar 20, 2011

Hi again, yes I had already tried this one also, but tried again, no luck? I think I might have a processor problem due to the remote works all functions with out a problem, everything I had already tried that should have worked hasn't, unless there is someway to manually test or check the main processor with out having to send the unit in. I am still open to any other suggestions so I don't have to unhook the many wires going to this system.
    Thank you,
    Harold

Perform a master reset :
Here's How -->Set the master switch to OFF. Press and hold the Straight (Effect) button behind the front panel, then turn the master switch to ON. This takes you to the advanced Setup Mode. Use the program selector knob to get to User Preset, switch this to RESET. Turn the unit off via the master switch. Next time you power the unit on, all the factory settings should be restored with the exception of system memory and auto setup settings.

It is possible that the main processor in the unit might have some garbage in it, do to a small power surge, and if you unplug the unit from the wall for 40 Min., it will reset back to normal.

Yamaha rx v2600 no audio at . hdmi cables ok. good video

Check the GUI menu for HDMI control and the Audio Pass thru setting. If you still have an issue, Set the Yamaha for "AUTO" on any audio input . That can be done thru the GUI menu or the hard button on the front of the receiver. Check your "Audio Output" settings on your Devices as well. ie DVD, Cable Box, Sat Receiver, etc. If you still have no audio, post a comment with the makes and models of all connected equipment and we can help you sort it out. Hope this helps

No sound from subwoofer on tuner and cd listening

If you have video running thru the receiver to your TV it's alot easier to see the menu. when hooked up to a TV press the Menu/GUI button on the Yamaha remote, when you get the on screen display choose "manual setup" and navigate to "Speaker Settings" arrow up or down to "Subwoofer" options are "LFE" "Sub" or "Both" choose "Both" and "enter/select/or ok" Now, if it still is happening, it means somehoe you have set up a user preference on those two inputs to have no sub. You have to navigate thru the menu to inputs and audio and check your settings. If you need more help, it is in the manual. If you don't have the manual, you can download it at www.yamaha.com/usa click on Home audio products then type in RX-V863 in the search box on the left. You may have to register to use their site files, however, it's free and you won't get spammed by Yamaha nor will they sell your email address. anyway, your problem is in your setup menu. Take your time and don't get frustrated! you've got a killer receiver!! Hope this helps

No zone 2 sound coming from yamaha amp rx-v861

We had the same problem - I think it was reset when the power went off in a storm. Went to Yamaha website (http://www.yamaha.com/yec/faq/faqdetail.html?CNTID=206010&CTID=5009135) and found the following worked:

Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control [SIDE SELECTOR SWITCH] to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote).
  2. Press the [SET MENU] button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the Sound Menu option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.

Outdoor speaker hook-up

Go into the manual setup on the GUI then go to the zone 2 and zone 3 setup. If you are using only the power from the receiver to power the speakers, make sure the setting is for Zone 3 amp "INT" if you still have no volume, on the front of the receiver look at the display, make sure "zone 3" is lit up then use the small remote and turn up the vol. if it's on you will see "zone 3 vol" and the bar going up it should be ok. if it says "fixed" it thinks you have an external volume control, if you do, make sure it's "on" at about 12 o'clock and test. If not, you need to switch it in the on screen "menu" or "GUI" button, follow to zone 2 & 3 vol control and make sure it is set to variable. If you still have no vol post a comment and we can dig further. Hope this helps
