Question about Microwave Ovens

2 Answers

My adsl2 is giving much lower speeds than expected ie 50 to 500kbps against an expected 2-3000kbps at my location. (Actually the Intermode map forecast 7000kbps.) Where can I go to find someone I can pay to have a look at it for me? The Telstra phone help is useless. Really need help and not looking for freebee! Thanks, Bryan Nolte

Defective microwave door switch?

You are correct about the upper switch if normally open resistance infinity, but when switch is depressed resistance should read near 0 ohms, you need to change the door switch. Now the high voltage diode cannot be checked with a digital meter because the bias is to high, chances are it is okay.

What is the temperature attained inside the microwave oven in a time span of 100seconds if the rating of the oven is 1200watt ?

The mass of the material you are heating affects the temperature achieved. ie. 2pints of liquid will reach a lower temperature than 1pint in 100 seconds.

The freezer part is working fine ,it seems as tho the refrigerator part is warming instead of cooling

The freezer is actually where the cold originates and is passed through into the refridgerated area.
Open the fridge doors and check that the air passage is not blocked by something stored against it. It's probably on the top shelf and looks like a louvre vent. There may be another down by the crisper drawer

Fridge section of fridge freezer not cold despite turning thermostat to max. Freezer section appears to be working fine.

Make sure that if it has a "colder" knob in the freezer section that it is not set all the
way over to coldest. This blocks all cold air entering the lower compartment when
set this way. It actually has been eliminated on some models.

Also you may have ice buildup in the stack assembly that feeds
the lower compartment or even a frozen upper compartment behind the back
panel of the freezer limiting air flow to the lower compartment. Make sure to unplug unit if service is necessary in these areas. I hope this is helpful.

GE microwave. Model WES1450DM1BB. Power after the fuse runs through a sensor which rests against the metal chasis. If sensor is bypassed mircrowave works fine. Sensor evidently is open. I cannot find any...

If the part is located near a potential 'hot-spot' it may be a thermal device and possibly a thermal fuse. Once opened, they don't self-heal.
If you describe the part, I may be able to identify it better.

Noise of microwave exhaust fan

You can remove the exhaust turbine unit with one screw and reinstall microwave and buy a braun external exhaust unit that fits over the hole where it is at the roof or wall and all of the noise will be outside and it will actually work. It is weather proof and will **** steam or fumes out like the best vacuum cleaner.
