Question about NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router

Can not login?

I tried many times to login but it still couldn't.
Is there another way to login?

Initially, verify that you are connected by wire/LAN to the router and try

If that doe not allow access to the web configuration page, perhaps you need to try to do a reset. The reset back will revert the unit back to factory settings (assuming no hardware or firmware fault). This is done by inserting the paperclip into the reset hole on the rear panel of the unit for more than 10 seconds.
An alternate method is:
Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds without the power cable plugged in. And while holding the reset button, plug in the power cable and keep holding the reset button for about a minute and then release it. You will have a check light (if any) in the router. After resetting the check light should go OFF.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

These steps solve most of the problems with logging on to routers.

  1. Connect a computer and a router directly with an Ethernet cable, putting an end in one of the router's LAN ports. Check that both ends are secure.
  2. Check the Internet LED is lit. If it is not, troubleshoot the light status, as explained in the manual.
  3. Check that the LEDs for the ports with cables are lit. If they are not, try moving the cable to a different port. If there are still no lights, then troubleshoot the light status, as explained in the manual.
  4. Check the LED on the Ethernet adapter is lit. If it is not, then troubleshoot the adapter, do not continue with this document. If the Ethernet adapter was not made by NETGEAR, contact the adapter's maker.
  5. Select Start > Run. Type cmd. Type ping If there is a message "Request timed out", type ping If that also has a "Request timed out" message, then your computer is not making a connection to the router.
  6. Otherwise, your computer is connected to the router:
    • Make sure proxies are not enabled. If using Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings. Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN....".
    • Delete offline contents. Select Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files. Select Delete all offline content, and click OK. (This is to clear any possible previous router log on page.)
    • Try accessing with a different computer, or with the Netscape browser, if you have it.
    • Delete cookies. WARNING. Do not do this if it's possible Web sites you visit need cookie information such as your logins and passwords.
  7. Power off the router, and power it back on again.
  8. If you still cannot log on to the router, then do a hard reset on the router.
  9. If you know how, check the computer's IP address and DHCP. The IP should be in the 192.168.0.x range, and DHCP should be enabled.
Reset for most routers with a reset button on the rear panel
Write down configuration information such as IP addresses, security keys, opened ports and services, etc., that you modified. (The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. Try these before resetting the router.)
  1. Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
  2. Release the button.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot.
  4. Log in with the default password. If the router was not cleared, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
  5. Unplug the router's power.
  6. Press and hold the reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
  7. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Log in with the default password.

are you using the default login?
Navigate to in a web browser using "admin" as both the username and password to login to the router.

Hi, I am trying to get a security password for my dlink -dir615 model through the internet by using the default gateway but it doesn't seem to work. the one that comes up is not the usual...

cant login ... i configured router with the wizard no problem can ping router go to main router login but i get " Enter the correct password above and then type the characters you see in the picture below. auth.bmp

as you can see the characters are not visible!

never had this problem with windows xp but unfortunately all my computers are windows 7 now ... could this be a brower issue because i tried them all.

I can't logged in my facebook account....even in other browser but my brother's facebook account can log in..... whenever I log in....i get this some kind of notice "Something went...

This happened to a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. First, I would suggest restarting the computer. My friend simply waited (it was a day) and the error went away. It seems to be an error on Facebook's side, since trying to login onto that account anywhere has the problem (another computer, phones, etc.). Sorry I couldn't give a definitive answer, but if in a day it's not back to normal, you can always contact Facebook directly at 650-543-4800 (granted this phone stinks what from I've heard, but it's better than nothing).

I wanna change the password of my router DIR-615, but I don't know how to do. I put the ip address, then it was asking for a password after admin. so i couldn't login from there. which password do...

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. or or or If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. The letters on the facebook login page are huge how do i get back to regular size letters

The fonts or letters or the whole page you may have accidentally zoom in. It is very simple to return the page to its regular size.
Press and hold down the CTRL button in your keyboard while pressing a few times the the minus ( - ) sign in the number pads. Pressing the plus ( + ) sign will make your page bigger.

You can also try
Press and hold down CTRL button while you scroll forward or backward the wheel in your mouse to make it bigger or smaller.

I was trying to install my ENCORE ENHWI-N3 802.11n wireless router. It was successful but it was secured i did tried to set a password, but the when I reach the login site, after now tries I was able to...

Try to do a hard reset by pressing the reset button for about a minute. This will reset the router to its default settings and you can redo it all over again. After setting up, write down the the login user and the password on a notepad. Then after that, try to logging in by copying what you wrote the on the notepad by using keyboard shortcuts "ctrl-c" and "ctrl-v" options. Or just inputting manually again. Hope this helps.

Please help me to save SpeedStream 6300

Maybe try pressing the reset button on the back of the router. It'll reset everything but at least you'll be able to get into your router
