SOURCE: Black cartridge not printing

This might sound really silly, but when you removed the protective tape over the cartridge, did it all come off? I had this problem once, and the tape had separated, the coloured part had come off leaving a clear film over the print head. Once I peeled that off, all was well. Hope that helps. Aileen xx

SOURCE: My Lexmark Z600 has stopped using the colour 27

apparently the default printing color has been changed, you have to change it back either from "control panel/ printers /right click on your printer and click properties, and choose color for printing." or you can do it per printing job, when it shows u the printing options, (like number of copies and other (basically same window from the control panel). if you do it from the control panel whatever you choose, that would be the default, otherwise it is per job change and is not permanent.

Epson xp 305 help

It's quite likely that at some point in time you will have attempted to print in black only to receive an error message that you cannot print until a colour cartridge is replaced.
"If ink is not in the tubes from the head to the cartridge, air will be sucked in and therefore cause damage to the print head. This is because the nozzles are in the print head and not in the cartridge. "
What Epson are basically saying is... if this safeguard was not in place, and you sent a print request for black when a colour cartridge was empty, there is a risk of air being pulled into the printhead. This air will ruin the vacuum effect needed for the printhead to pull ink in, meaning your printhead would be at risk of never printing again.
Additionally, if any air is allowed go get into the aformentioned tubes from the head to the cartridge, any remaining ink will coagulate. Just in case you're not a scientist - coagulation in a tube/cartridge is bad, and will lead to you not being able to print again with that cartridge, or to a blocked nozzle/printhead which will require a significant amount of cleaning cycles to budge.

Colour setup for x4650

Make sure the color ink level is substantial for printing, otherwise, replace it with a new cartridge. Try to clean the cartridge nozzle - from the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Maintenance > Clean Cartridge > press OK. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Then try to print your file again to verify that the print quality has improved.

I have a Lexmark X6690 and bought new Lexmark print cartridges today - Black and Colour. The printer is recognising the colour cartridge but not the black one. Driving me nuts!! Please help x

Try to reseat the black cartridge. If that doesn't help, try to clean the cartridge nozzles. On the printer operator panel > press Setup button > Maintenance > Clean Cartridges > Ok. Your printer will then print a page, forcing ink through the nozzles to clean them. Try to print again. You may also try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the other is faulty. If your new cartridge is faulty, return it to the purchase store (if within return period) or contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

Did you replace the tri-colour ink-cartridge, or did you replace the print-head mechanism?

Are you sure that the CYAN part of the ink-cartridge is not empty?

Just chaned ink cartridge and every thing printed out pink clean the pink and now nothing is printing tried cleaning the head and did the nozzle check and still not printing

It seems to me, if you have changed your colour cartridge that is, that you do not have enough black ink in your black ink cartridge, so you should change this also.

The printer does not print colour. The colour

Hi,
The nozzle may be blocked. So take out the colour cartridge and place its nozzle in a bit of water for about 10 mins. Bring it out and dab the nozzle with folded paper. If the tissue is blotted with the three colour it means you have unblocked the nozzle. Try now to print after returning the colour cartridge. You may need to repeat to get good results..
Thank you!!

Only one colour is printed

try to check the level of ink..
do this step:
The print cartridge contacts may not be cleaned. Clean the print cartridge contacts as described below or, if necessary, replace the cartridges:
  1. Open the printer top access door. The printer carriage will move to the center.
  2. Remove the USB cable from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove the print cartridges from the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord. (Do not press the Power button to turn off the printer).
  5. Verify that the cartridge reference meets the specifications for the printer. Cartridge reference can be found in the User Guide.
  6. Verify that the protective plastic tape has been removed from the print cartridge
  7. Locate the copper circuit strip on the back of the cartridge.
  8. Clean the copper circuit strip with a dry foam-rubber swab or a lint-free cloth. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. note: do not used any glass cleaner coz it will cause the damage of the print cartidge
  9. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  10. Turn on the printer if it does not turn on automatically.
  11. Insert the print cartridge into the cradle at a slight upward angle until a resistance is fallen.
  12. Close the top access door. The printer carriage should move to the left.
  13. If the printer light is on steady, perform a self test report as follows:
    1. Press and hold the Power button, and then open and close the top cover four times.
    2. Release the Power button.
  14. If the printer light continues to blink, replace the print cartridge or cartridges one at a time.
Try this steps and give me feedback.....

My Lexmarkx1270 will not print any black text etc

Is it a new cartridge? If the cartridge has been sitting a while it can get clogged. Try using a moist paper towel and gently wiping the cartridge where the ink comes out.
You could also try running the Lexmark Solutions Center program and use the clean nozzles option to force it to squirt out some black ink.
