Youll know what to do; when your computer starts up, before the windows logo pops up, keep hitting the F8 button (sometimes F5), you will come to some options and one of them will be to restore factory settings (sometimes under repair computer).

To restore my computer to its original settings without

recovery CDs.

Note: If your system is the multilingual version, the operating

system and language you choose when you first turn on the

system will be the only option for future recovery operations.

This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software

content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps

below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all data

will be erased.) It is important to back up all data files before using this option.

Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.

1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.

2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.

3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.

Note: To activate the BIOS utility, press during POST.

I DONT KNOW HOW TO RESTORE MY ACER BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS

The Acer Aspire One is a netbook, not a laptop. A netbook is a smaller, scaled-down version of a laptop. It does not have the memory capacity or graphics of a regular laptop. It also lacks a CD drive, which means you cannot restore the Acer Aspire One with restore discs. Instead, the netbook has a built-in factory restore feature. You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard. Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted. Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. Sounds like the OS is currupt and you will need to boot with your restore cd which you received with your system, and set everything to factory default.
Good Luck.

Multimedia keys not working on acer aspire 5610z do i need a driver, where can i download it?

If you mean by multimedia keys the buttons that allow you to bring up media player and skip tracks and stuff then I think I had this problem too.
I wiped my 5610z but only installed only the windows software. This stopped the keys from working. However when I then used the factory restore disk instead, this re-installed windows and also made the keys work again.

So your best bet is to create a factoryrestore disk. You can download the software to do so online :) its called Acer eRecovery

System Restore

any changes to windows registry that are automatically done such as Windows background updates will make restore un-useable. Microsoft should provide this warning, maybe they do but I have not seen it. Try disabling auto-updates, but first you must get back to "...set computer back to factory default".
