Yes, assuming the netbook's USB ports put out enough current to do so. Charging a battery requires more current than some USB ports can handle. Go ahead and try it, you're not going to damage anything by doing so. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Can not run netbook off battery even though battery shows fully charged' When charger is removed netboook will not turn on

Make sure the battery is fully inserted and clicks in to the netbook body. Your battery may also be showing that it's charged but is actually dead. Try a new battery and see if it solves your problem.

Asus 1005HA pc not charging.. The blue light on the charger is on but it wont charge the laptop..

I have a total of 5, yes 5 netbooks and a laptop. My experience has taught me that sometimes, it is the charger not the actual netbook/notebook that is the problem. My barely used compaq laptop sat quiet for 2 years.... wouldn't charge..... I assumed it needed repairs more than I could afford. Meanwhile, with 2 of the netbooks, they stopped taking a charge even with the lil led light on. I ordered new chargers for netbooks- PRESTO-- they took a charge. And eventually got a new charger for the expensive paperweight I had too. Now they are all working again. Not an expert by any means, but have had a lot of experience with them. I would rather pay 15 bucks and be wrong, than assume it's something else- have them fix for 80.

Hello there!

Try to reconnect if its still working or charging. If not, you can buy an original charger adapter for your HP mini netbook.

My asus 100p netbook is not charging. its only 2 months old and now when i plugged the adapter its is lighting but the battery indicator is not lighting. i am running low in battery now.

First of all, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the netbook & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your netbook voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the netbook ) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the netbook's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the netbook's rating. It should never be less than the netbook's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the netbook, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the netbook & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another netbook, or try a good or new battery in your netbook.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the netbook's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the netbook needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the netbook's motherboard altogether.

Yes you can use it with half charged battery.
Sounds like you conditioned the battery when new which is a good thing. It will keep your battery in good shape now that it has been conditioned correctly as per your user manual.
Just remember that leaving your battery charging for extended periods of time will reduce its lifespan. When it says the battery is charged take it off the charger.
