Question about HP Pavilion Elite M9060N PC Desktop

1 Answer

When I push the power button on my HP M9060N , it was coming on ok but then it got to where I had to turn on my power bar and wait thirty minutes to turn on computer, its getting now where it needs to be on for hours before the power on button will work. My computer is connected to a power bar I turn off each night after computer shutdown and turn on again in the morning and then push the power button but its getting to where it wont turn on. Could this be the power supply?

More than likely yes. It isn't good practice to cut power to your PC every night. Although I understand that you are most likely doing this for energy savings, it isn't necessary and isn't good for your PC.

A replacement power supply for your computer, according to its spec sheet, must be at least 350W. Power supplies are variable in quality, you get what you pay for.

I recommend a Corsair CMPSU-430CX because I've personally had good experience with their products, and this power supply is relatively inexpensive and meets your requirements.

If you do not feel comfortable with replacing it yourself, there are numerous services that will replace it for you, just make sure they don't replace you power supply with a low quality one.

I have an HP Officejet 4500 g510 - how do you turn off the power save mode? Thanks,

Called Hp, they said it is a firmware problem and they would notify me when they solved it. All I do is unplug and then plug it back in. If that don't work, make sure you have a phone line plugged in you're printer and pretend to make a phone call, this will "wake up" the printer, it will say "phone off hook". Then on the keypad of the printer push the star and pound buttons at the same time, then enter 1, 2, and 4. Scroll thru until you see "system menu" then push the OK button and find "system mode timeout" push OK then enter 1800 and push OK. Push OK again to make sure. That is the dafault setting for this printer. After doing all that you're printer will go to power save mode after 30 minutes sitting idle but it should pop right back to normal by pushing the power button once or sending a print command from you're computer. At least that's what I did and now it seems to come out of power save mode when it's supposed to....gary

Hello,

I will advice you reset the printer, follow the steps below to reset the printer,

1. Without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold ?# and 6? keys.
3. While holding those keys plug the power cord back in.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions.

If that did not fix the problem, try this,
  1. Unplug the power cable from printer while the printer is powered on.
  2. Press and hold OK and HELP buttons while plugging in the power cord. Wait for the screen to go black or blank before releasing the keys.
  3. Just turn on the printer and configure your printer new.
The problem should be fix with this.

Take care.

I have a HP Officejet H470wbt printer ,sometimes it starts to print, and it will print about an inch or so of the invoice than stops, you have to push the resume button, then it kicks out an empty sheet.

I did what they call a power reset. If your printer is turned on, turn it off, if it is plugged in, unplug it, if it has a battery, take it off, push and hold the power button for thirty seconds, replace battery, plug it in and turn it on, wait till all the lights quit blinking and try printing, I did this and it has'nt givin me a problem since

There is a chance that there is something physically wrong with your printer. Maybe a gear is broken or came off, or maybe a pump or tube is clogged. But most of the time a cold reset will sold the ink system failure error. Here's the procedure for the cold reset:

1- Turn off power and unplug from power source.
2- Open right side of printer (looking at the front).
3- Disconect,by pulling gently, the flat ribbon cable off the main circuit board that is the smaller of the two.
4- Plug in power source and turn printer on. Wait till you hear no more movement from inside from unit booting up.
5- Press both cancel and power button at the same time.
6- Message on printer screen will be, "Enter Special Key Combo".
7- Push keys; Left-Ok-Right.
8- When printer screen changes, scan through and look for "System Menu" and push "Ok"
9- Scan agan and look for "Clean Derivative" and push "Ok". [WAIT FOR 1 MINUTE].
10- Scan agan and look for "Clean Firms" and push "Ok". [Again WAIT FOR 1 MINUTE]
11- Press "Cancel" 4 times
12- Turn off power and unplug from power source. [NOW WAIT FOR 2 MINUTES].
13- Reconect the flat ribbon cable by aligning and carefully pushing into the conector on the main circuit board.
14- Plug in power source, and turn on power.
15- When printer boots up, answer the questions on the printer screen for your area.
16- The printer will cycle the ink from the cartridges to the print head and back.

If this doesn't clear your error then there may be something broken inside your printer. If you still have warranty then I would have the unit replaced. If you don't have warranty then it might be cheaper to buy a new printer that has warranty.
