Right. 98 didn't have a lot of drivers built in for USB drives (if any).
You have to install the USB drive for your One Touch.
You should have gotten a disk with the drive,
If not (or you don't have it)

Windows 98 doesn't have support for usb drives, you need to install a driver for the onetouch.

looking at the support pages the requirements state windows xp or newer.

you can try contacting the support and ask for a driver for windows 98
https://seagate.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/seagate.cfg/php/enduser/stx_ask.php

I feel its unlikely they have made a driver for it, but you got noting to lose by asking.

Seagate external harddrive with windows 98 OS

Remove (or take to your local computer shop) the Win 98 hard drive from the computer.
Put this drive in an external USB drive enclosure.
Plug this enclosure into a Windows XP vintage computer.
Copy the data to this computer.

Save Win 98 drive for posterity!

Hi the easies way to get around this is to grab a USB mouse from another computer, or buy a cheap usb mouse. USB mice are automatically recognized

IF the win98 box wont recognize the usb stick you will need to install the drivers in order for the OS to recognize the device, after this you should be able to see the device and files on it

My Mac laptop running OS X 10.5.5 is not recognizing my Maxtor One Touch 4 Mini 320gb external drive. I plug it in, the light on the drive comes on, but nothing else happens.

check to make sure the drive is formatted to the FAT file system as NTFS file system is not recognised on Macs (check the drive on a PC and have the PC format the drive to the FAT file system)

I have a sony 2GB flash drive and i am not able to retrieve my files

Do you mean your PC is not recognizing your flash drive? Your USB port might be the problem. Try using a different USB port to see if it works.

I have Enter TV Tuner Card for windows98 software. I want drivers of the same while installing the device it shows New hardware found of PCI Multimedia Device.

The hardware is probably too old to be recognized if you are trying to install it in a newer version of Windows, such as XP or Vista. You would probably save yourself a lot of wasted time and energy if you simply buy a newer inexpensive TV tuner card for your version of Windows. A good place to start searching would be http://www.pricegrabber.com

Maxtor onetouch 4 mini 160gb used as back up

Yes you do. If you don't have them they are available from the manufacturer but for some reason they want you to email them with the serial number of the drive.

Help with Maxtor onetouch 4

The Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini is a portable hard drive, with USB interface.

What you have to do is, just connect your Maxtor OneTouch 4 MiniT to the one end of USB cable, after that insert he other end to your laptop USB por.

Wait for few moments your operating system will read your new connected portable hard drive.

After that you can find a new drive letter in your My Computer, thats for your portable disk drive.

thanks
