The drip ring and a seal ring dropped into the batter how are they attached on a Kitchen aid MOdel k5-a

The drip ring is held in place by friction. Simply put in place and tap it around with a small hammer (use a piece of wood between the ring)- and hammer).

I don't know what you mean by a "seal ring." The only piece I can thong of is a rubber o-ring around the agitator shaft (where you attach the beater). If it somehow broke and worked loose you will have to disassemble the machine to either replace the shaft assembly or to fit a new o-ring. The K5=-A service manual is available on line with a bit of searching.

Will not turn on

Undo the black plastic caps, one on each side. You probably need new carbon brushes. Remove them carefully and note that the brushes will only fit one way there is a blocking stop on the inner edge of the brush holder, you can see it with a torch when brush is out. Line the chamfered off corner of the new carbon brush up with the blocking stop. On one side it is at the back at the top and the other at the back at the bottom ( I think )

Kitchen aid 5KSM150PS pin fallen out

The pin that you refer to is called the hinge pin, first get a towel and lay it out on a clean work space (to protect your finish) then turn the mixer upside down on the towel and look down into the base cavity you will see a small screw either flat head or Phillips style or maybe hex. get what ever driver you need to fit that screw ans turn it counter clockwise a couple times, then get a non metallic hammer and gently tap the pin back in until it is flush on both sides. then re-tighten the set screw that you turned counter clockwise, now turn it clockwise and give it a firm turn to set the screw again. If the pin comes out you have to do it all over again but this time you have to turn the pin 180 degrees to get fresh pin to drive your set screw into again, if it happens again you need to replace the pin. let us know if this helped.

The planetary assembly fell off my mixer and I cant get it to fir back on. I have a professional series 6 qt 575 watt kitchenaid.

My wife has the same model and the planetary unit fell off shortly after we bought it. Since we had moved overseas to a remote pacific island, getting it fixed under warranty was out of the question.

Since the rotary unit is a pressue fit, I pressed it back into place and it worked fine for about 3 months before I had to repeat the process. After that it became a monthly ritual.

I finally decided to fix it for good. What I did was drill a 3/8" hole in the center of the nub in the middle of the inverted rotary cover plate. I then drilled a 5/16" pilot hole in the center of the grooved shaft that the rotary cover plate presses onto. I then tapped that hole with a 18 NC tap. I was careful to tap it just a little shy of the depth of the cap screw that I was going to insert into the threaded hole so that it would jam as I tightened it. I then greased all the gears with a white machine grease and pressed the roary cover plate back onto the shaft. I then put a washer on a 5/16"-18 x 1" socekt head cap screw and clamped the thing together. It hasn't come off in the last 2 years.

While I am moderately skilled in this sort of thing it wasn't a precision operation. Since I was living in a fairly remote location with no shop, I did the entire operation on the kitchen counter using a handheld electric drill. Probably the hardest part was determining how deep to tap the shaft. I did it by trial and error. You can adjust the depth by using a washer or two of varying thicknesses.

I'm really surprised how lame a design using a press fit for this assembly is. They could easily prevent the problem by using my approach or even putting a cotter pin through the shaft and reciever tube in the rotary cover plate (a small hole would be needed in the side of the tube to set the cotter pin).

From what I've seen on the internet while looking for a solution, this is a fairly pervasive problem.

We thought we were buying a high quality machine that we thought would be reliable in our remote situation. Fortuantely, other than the falling rotary cover issue, the machine has worked great.

I need instructions to use my new kitchen aid attachment

Hi. Basically all you really need to know is to start the machine at a slow speed, begin shredding, increase speed to a point where the machine is not labouring. Next time you use that attachment, set it for that speed. Different attachments and the foods they process load different stresses on the mixer. Always use a speed that is one step above/below the labouring sounds. Kitchenaid doesn't see fit to publish these instructions online as they do their other manuals. Another missed opportunity by Kitchenaid. You might want to check out the kitchenaid forum. one of these people just might have it in digital form. Good luck! ricardok45

Can the Kitchen aid accessories fit the Wolfgang puck stand mixer

If you happen to have a friendly toolmaker with a small metal lathe it should not be too difficult to modify KITCHEN AID accessories that fit on to the front powwer outlet. However Puck Stand Mixer accessories are occasionaly offered on the Web. Meat grinders are very common and original Puck pasta maker have also been seen. Get searchin'!
