Remote garage roller door will not go up or down.Remotes have new batteries.Garage was opened and closed on the same day;there was no interference by any internal objects.Checked fuse box in the house and the fuse had not tripped?Remote controls are simple 'up or down or stop'

You may need to resync the remote. if there isnt a sync button on the remote and the box. tell me the model i will inform you on how to do it

Craftsman overhead garage door opens at random?


There is some interference created by other wireless devices within range of your garage door. This maybe a door bell, baby motor or car immobilizer. Check to see if there are any new wireless devices, it maybe someone Cole by like a neighbor. Alternatively, you can delete the existing remotes from the unit and reprogram the remotes again, this will reprogram the emotes on a different frequency and hopefully cut out any interference. Caution: do not use LED bulbs with garage door openers. They are a possible source of signal interference between the transmitter and receiver on the opener.

I have a Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener. For it to open or close,I need to be next to the door or under the unit.Remotes have new batterys

Please keep in mind that the device can be brand new, or can be an item that has been in use for quite a while. Also, the item may continue to function properly as far as you are able to tell. The only problem with the item may be that it has started to broadcast the interference, with no other symptoms noted.


Some devices are more likely to generate interference than others. This includes TV cable, cable amplifiers, surge protectors, fluorescent lights, battery charging devices (power tools, golf carts, etc.), anything that utilizes a timer (sprinkler systems, lights, alarm systems, etc.), and a myriad of others. If the problem seems sporadic, we can safely assume that the device responsible for the interference is only being operated during these times. Again, please keep in mind that the age of the device does not determine if it is capable of broadcasting unwanted interference. Any electrical device can be the source of the problem.


The first step is replacing the battery in your remote. If the range on your remote does not improve, remove the wall control wires from the overhead unit. If the range does not improve you will likely need to replace the remote control. If the range improves, then the interference is coming from a device in the garage. If improvement is noted, turn the circuit breakers back on, one by one, until the range problem resurfaces. This will allow you to narrow down what room the problem device is in. You will have to go from there to isolate it further, by unplugging and re-plugging the items in that room.

I have a liftmaster formula 1 garage door opener. It has become very difficult to open w/ both remotes unless you are right next to the door. I've replaced batteries in both remotes it didnt help. Is there...

Remote Control closes garage door but does not open


It sounds like a case of your keypad losing signal strength enough that it cannot transmit through the closed door. If a new battery doesn't do the job a new keypad will.
