hey im having almost same problem, i got a motorola s8vs SURFboard cable modem with a battery in it and my ethernet ccord runs from my modem to my xbox but yet my xbox cant read my ip adress, why is this.. do you know?
Your wep adress? You mean your IP adress? Go to http://whatismyip.com/ and that number is your IP adress. Enter that manually, and your XBox should be connected.
this is not a fault with the xbox 360 rather it is a problem you have with your internet connection or router. you'll have to check or possibly renew dhcp (the protocol that issues ip addresses on your router if you use one) or contact your isp about it.
