Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

A quick and easy way to find out which tray is which is to pull the detergent drawer out just so that you can see into it. Start a pre-wash and see where the water runs in, then advance to the main wash and observe. Finally start a rinse cycle and where the water goes in is where the conditioner/softener goes.
In a few cases I have come across the pre-wash tray shares with the conditioner/softener part but the pre-wash powder goes in the front and the softener in the back.

Do you need a manual if you do not have one? If so you will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!
Good luck,,
John C

Usually your pre-detergent is number 1, standard washing detergent is number 2, and softener is number 3.

We have an Ignis awf 595 washer dryer. The machine is now beyond economical repair due to the drum shearing off its bearings. What would cause this to happen.

It would be caused by a corroded and then seized up drum bearing from a water seal leak, detergent is very corrosive and very quickly ruins the drum bearings.

Creda Washing Machine Detergent Dispenser not emptying

does the detergent get wet?
may be the blue trap door that is behind the detergent in the drawer is set for liquid detergent ie 'closed' and needs to be set to open to allow the powder past. or the holes above the detergent section where the waster comes out are blocked so water goes in another route.
you could always put the powder straight in with the wash to get yourself out of trouble.
