I will try this on my user's computer and let you know if it worked. If it doesn't I hope you have another fix. Thank you.

I tried the suggestion you listed and that did not fix the problem. I looks like the user is trying to archive an email message with a VERY Large document attached and that is when he receives the error message.

Hi,

To resolve this issue, first check whether the "Enable write caching on the disk" feature is turned on. If it is turned on, turn it off. To do this, follow these steps.

Note If you turn off the "Enable write caching on the disk" feature, your hard disk may perform more slowly and may affect the overall system performance of your computer. Because of this, you may want to monitor system performance after you follow the steps in this section.

To turn off Enable write caching on the disk, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Hardware tab.
4. Click to select the hard disk, and then click Properties.
5. Click the Policies tab.
6. Click to clear the Enable write caching on the disk check box, and then click OK.
7. Click OK to close the Local Disk (C:) Properties dialog box

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I HAVE A DELL GX620 DESKTOP COMPUTER IM TRYING TO INSTALL NEW WIN XP I GET A MESSAGE SELECTED BOOT DEVICE NOT AVAILABLE HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM ?

Place your windows XP install disc into the dvd drive. Turn your desktop off. Then turn back on and tap F12. Then select your dvd drive instead of the HDD. This will boot your computer from the disc data instead of your HDD data.

Hope this helps

The validation files have been corrupted by a malware. Unless you have made a backup of them the only way to fix that is to save your personal files and reinstall XP.

Error: Cannot Display This Video Mode

You may have to boot into safe mode and reset the video settings to a safe setting like 1024x768.

  1. To get into safe mode, continuously press F8 while the computer is booting up.
  2. Eventually you will get a Windows XP Boot Menu.
  3. Choose the option for Safe Mode.
  4. Go to Start, Control Panel and double-click Display.
  5. On the Settings tab, drag the slider bar to 1024x768.
  6. Click OK
  7. Shut down and reboot.
If the problem goes away, then you are good. Otherwise, you'll have to boot menu again (F8) and choose Enable VGA Mode.
