Can you check the RPM of the engine? 3600 RPM = 60 HZ. If it is running around that speed, try a different frequency meter.

If it was producing 180 HZ, it should automatically shut down and show a fault code!

You need to determine output frequency. Is your engine running at 3000 rpm (50 Hz)? At 50 Hz this generator only produces 700 VA (850 VA max).

I just look at my coffee pot here and it requires 1000 VA (watts) of power. If is more power requirement than this generator could produce even if it was operating in 120v mode at 60 hz.

### What is the frequency of Briggs and Stratton portable generator 30552-00 and if it is 60 hz and I wanna change it into 50 hz, Is it possible and how?

It be better to obtain an unit that already design for your area as it will the appropriate electrical outlets.

As for the 30552-00 would be 60 Hz with running at a governed speed of 3600 (3750 unloaded).

Being a two pole generator frequency is determined by dividing engine as follows. 3600 / 60=60. Engine is RPM is in minutes and must converted to seconds. For 50Hz operation the engine speed must be reduce to 3000 rpm (50hz * 60seconds = 3000 rpm)

### Only getting 80 volts

First check you engine's rpm. Your generator is a 60 hz unit it need to be 3600-3750rpm; if 50 hz then it need to be 3000-3100.

If voltage is still down and the rpms are correct then alternator's voltage regulation circuit needs checking. To do this you need to have make and model posted.

### I have an older honda ex 1000 generator what is the correct rpm For it to start making power?

Normally a generator RPM dictates the frequency. You will have to obtain a frequency meter. (Some multi-meters include a Hz selection). Adjust the RPM until your frequency meter shows 60HZ (in the US). If you do not read any frequency at any RPM, the unit needs troubleshooting in the voltage section.

### Why do my clocks run fast when my Briggs & Stratton 15kw generator is running?

Electric clocks use synchronized motors that run on 60 Hz AC. The power company provides AC power with a precisely regulated frequency of 60 Hz. That means that the voltage jumps back and forth (positive to negative) 60 times per second. Your generator would do the same thing if it could run at precisely 3600 rpm (that's rev's per minute) - but it can't, because the engine is not that precisely controlled. In your case it tends to run (on average) a little fast. I hope you found this helpful. By the way, in Europe 50 Hz is the norm. If you run a clock designed for 50 Hz on 60 Hz power, it will run 20% too fast! Al K

### My generator is not putting out the proper voltage? it's only putting out approx 75 volts on the 120 volt circit. i adjust the idle to full out and i get approx 112v.

Most low voltage conditions on generators are simply due to a low engine rpm. Most modern generators are 2- pole windings. So your engine rpm should theoretically run @ 3600 rpm. which will produce 120/240 volts @ 60 HZ. In actuality You want to set your rpm's @ Approx. 3720rpm no load. About 62.5 Hz. Without getting to technical this will give you your desired 120/240 volts loaded. Hope this helps.

### My 20Kva Generac generator run for about 30 minutes and automaticly shut off. The alarm indicated that the generator has over speed. I don't know where to adjust or set the right hz.

The speed should be such that 60 Hz is generated when under load.

The govenor MAY be out of adjustment.

The speed for 60 Hz should be one of the following:

3600, 1800, 900 RPM
