Most of the time, with a laptop, what you purchased is what you have.
The graphics-adapter is built-in to the motherboard.
It might be possible to replace the CPU with a faster model.

How much RAM in your computer? Usually, adding more RAM makes the computer faster.

Not graphics card, sometimes the processor although HP are usualy keen on intergrating it onto the motherboard...so in short..NO!

Hi anil_smash, the HP Compaq {EVO Notebook} is:

  • Mobile Intel? Pentium? 4 processors-M -- up to 1.7 GHz
  • ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 Graphics Controller
  • 256 MB DDR SDRAM *(266 MHz), Upgradeable to [1024 MB]
  • "Which = equal 1GB 'using DDR SDRAM!"
"Try getting the 'same (Manufacturer Brand) type: DDR Memory!
So you will know the 'compatibility' to support the memory.
    of the "computer."
!Important: "Take a 'moment to rate the help', so I can get 'credit' for the work.

    Thank you!" - paul7of9

This 'comment' is for FixYa! So my understanding is; -10 is {subtracted} for "Not Helpful: Solutions!" But! When the "Solution is Very Helpful! = 5 or < LESS!" ? Is this "Correct"!? I have another ?Question? Do a number between a (100 to 1000) people respond quicker, and more to "Solution that do not help!" In comparison to the "Solutons that do?"

Can I upgrade my DV7-2173cl processor to one that supports virtualization (vt-x or vt-d). Processor is: 2.00 GHz Intel Centrino 2 Processor Technology featuring Intel Core2 Duo Processor P7350

Would be quite challenging. From cost perspective it may be good to get a new laptop rather than trying to upgrade. Also the n1000c is rather old and compaq or HP doesnt support it. So perhaps you can consider investing in a new laptop :)

Ugrading to a newer system with higher performance specifications

You can upgrade you memory to 2 x 512MB DDR PC2700 333MHz, and install pretty much any size 2.5" IDE hard drive you wish. Installing Vista will make this machine very very slow. Windows 7 would be better as it uses less resources. Ideally XP Pro would be better suited based on this boards specifications.

Can I upgrade 32 mb Video display of my compaq evo n1000c?

As the Video Card is integrated into the Motherboard for your Model, the only way to upgrade is to change the entire board with a larger integrated Video Card. I believe there is a board with a 64MB ATI Card available. Cost of this board replacement may be more than ugrading to a newer system with higher performance specifications. I need vista vga driver for my compaq evo n1000v notebook

    Hi there.
Your graphics controllers are supplied by ATI and is Radeon IGP-340M (RS200M)
Unfortunately there is no Vista driver available for that HP laptop, even ATI don't supply a Vista driver for that model, it only has support for XP.

    Thanks for choosing FixYa!!

My evo n1000v is no recognizing cd's,

its mean u have no vedio driver in ur laptop, every laptop have driver of audio and vedio for its seprate operating system, like vista and xp.

first of all install vedio driver for ur laptop, ur laptop have any graphics card, then install its drivers.you can see graphics driver name and series on ur laptop cartoon box.

you may install other dvd player to run ur cd, like kmp player or vlc media player looke on www.filehippo.com for players. for drivers..

for graphics driver-- http://driversdownloadsfree.com/tag/nvidia-ge-force-go-6150-driver-for-windows-xp open that site, type ur graphics card detail with, xp or vista., in serch box, and download it, and install.

    Key Board

    Hi,

I'm not familiar with this laptop but all I have worked on in the past have a series of tabs along the top of the keyboard, usually I can use a jewellers screw driver to gently ease one tab back at a time and then slip in something like a credit card to keep the tab back.

Once you have all of the tabs held back you should be able to lift the keyboard out.

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Nick

I cannot enable the wireless connection on the compaq Evo n1000c

For the built-in wireless on this model (EVO N1000C) the key combination to enable/disable wireless is Fn + F2. If pressing the Fn and F2 keys together does not enable the wireless, it may be disabled in the BIOS.

If you need to check this, here are the instructions to enter the BIOS:
Turn off the computer. Power it on and immediately start tapping the F10 key about once per second until you see the BIOS screen.
