Well alot of the time there is a issue with the formating that the camera does on the stick and also when formating it on the computer it formats it another way as well. some in FAT and some in FAT32 this is ushally a error for the most part I would definatly plug your duo stick into a card reader and then go to my computer and the find the drive that the stick is in and right click on it and go to properties and do a error check on the stick to make sure that there is no errors. and if you can defragment after the scan then by all means do it and then format the card and try it and hopefully it will work out to your advantage.

*note this problem seems to only happen with the non branded duo sticks not the sony branded ones.*

well I think when that happens you will have to reboot your laptop sometimes when a usb device is recognized too many times too quickly it causes a internal error with it I have that issue before with digital cameras my computer would recognize it disconnect it and then reconnect it then causeing the drive to not show up.

so I woud reboot but have the memory stick not inserted wait till the laptop is completely booted then insert the stick into the reader.

do you have any other sticks to try in the reader as well?

just to rule out any possible damage to your reader. if its a software issue then there is a few things we can try to fix this issue.

try that and let me know if that works and make sure that no other usb devices are plugged in to the laptop when trying to prevent any conflict. with other devices.

Bought used camera Sony Cyber Shot Model DSC-P32. What Memory Stick do I need?

You can use Memory Stick standard, pro or pro duo up to 2GB with the Camera.
A dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached to use Memory Stick Duo™ or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media.

I have provided the Memory Stick compatibility chart for your reference.

Yes, a Memory Stick Pro Duo is the right card for this camera. The manufacturer shouldn't matter.

MY PROBLEM IS THAT MY LAPTOP HAS WINDOW VISTA SYSTEM AND I CANNOT LOAD MY PHOTOS FROM MY SONY CYBERSHOT DSC P73. I NEED THE PROGRAM OR WHAT I NEED TO DO?

To make things easier, you should buy a card reader. There are different types.

MS Pro Card Reader - Is ONLY for the sony memory cards

Multi Card Reader - Will read sD, xD, Ms Pro Duo, Ms Pro, Compact Flash, Smart Media, etc.

Sony has a new memory stick out called the memory stick pro duo. Your P73 does not take this. The P73 takes the Memory Stick Pro. Which is a longer stick. You can go out to best buy or ritz camera and buy a card reader (Memory Stick Pro) and stick your memory card into the card reader and stick that into your USB port on your computer. Since it is USB, this will require NO SOFTWARE.

Your camera came out in 2004. Vista did not come out until early 2007. A lot of software does not work with vista.

Transferring photo from computer to memory stick

Many cameras will not let you write to the card. Try using a card reader, which will make the memory card appear to the computer as a separate hard drive.

CAN I UPLOAD PICS FROM MY SONY CYBERSHOT W55 USING A SANDISK??

what do you mean nothing happens???
the memory stick pro duo should fit right into the sony cybershot....
if your struggling to load your photos onto your computer buy a universal memory card reader!
you should try and use a memory stick in a camera that needs an sd though!

Can you use the PSP Memory Stick Pro Duo cards on your DC?

Yes! The Memory Stick Pro Duo's are one in the same. (Just out of curiosity, where are you finding them cheaper?) One note, however; as strange as this is, though the PSP plays mp4s, they will not play mp4s from a memory stick pro duo that comes directly out of your M1 camera... I've tried it, I have both a PSP and an M1. (The PSP will show off your M1 still photos, though.) Hope this helps! Susan
