I think it worked as when the laptop restarted..A microsoft windows box has come up saying...you must restart to apply changes... So i just wanted to know...Should i restart the laptop now...?? Or just turn the laptop off..and go through the HDD Recovery process to wipe the laptop..??? If you could help with this i would be grateful once again... Many thanks...

If you want to "wipe" the disk-drive, then you can just turn the computer off.
Then, insert the "System Restore" CD/DVD disk, turn the computer on,
and force the computer to boot from that disk, instead of booting from the 'C:' drive.

I updated my toshiba l300 pslgbe's bios from the 1.80 to the 2.2, now everytime i turn my laptop on, it shows a blue screen with an error. my laptop is now completely useless

AS YOU ON THE SYSTEM AND EVEN BEFORE WINDOWS STARTS KEEP PRESSING THE F8 KEY CONTINUEOUSLY. A MENU WILL APPEAR. SELECT SAFE MODE AND ENTER. WINDOWS WILL LOAD IN SAFE MODE. THIS WILL SOLVE SOME OF YOUR PROBLEMS. NOW RESTART THE SYSTEM IN NORMAL MODE.

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK SELECT "LOAD WINDOWS WITH LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION " AND THEN RESTART. THIS WILL SURELY SORT OUT YOUR PROBLEM.

PLS REPLY OR COMMENT. THANKS

Hi, I am trying to set my Toshiba Satellite

Just before the laptop boots, a Toshiba screen opens inviting F2 or F12. This will let you into the BIOS menu if you press F2 at that time. When you are there, find Default Settings in the menu and press F10 and enter.
That is now set to default and you can start the restore process.
Hope that helps.

My toshiba satellite laptop won't connect wirelessly to Bigpond home network gateway. Bigpond reckon it's a toshiba problem

As a general test, see if you can ping the "router's configuration URL IP address". To do that go to a command prompt(DOS Prompt) and type in ping and the routers IP. If you get replies you are OK conencting as far as the router. Next try PINGing to www.yahoo.com or www.google.com. If you get replies you are OK conencting as far as the Internet. If not try sending a ping to their IP(the numbered) address. If you get replies you are OK conencting as far as the Internet, but you have a DNS issue. Big Pond can help you with that.

Install windows XP on toshiba satellite U300

Hello
The windows Xp installation doesent find your hardrive because you have a sata drive. you need to adjust the settings in the bios so the sata drive appears as a ordinary IDE drive(ide native) or something like that. search in the bios settings.
A other way is to burn a new winxp cd with the Toshiba Satellite U300, sata drivers.
download the http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/Barts-PE-Builder.shtml
and download the toshiba harddrive drivers and creat a new cd.
but the simples way is to make the change in bios.
good luck
