Question about Primavera SureTrak Project Manager 3.0 for PC

When I try to log in to open suretrak I get the message "?Unable to find a serial number. Please make sure that the files in the Program or Work directory, as specified in the registry, are not marked Read-Only.? Suretrak was working fine last time I used it but it crashed when I was trying to restore an old schedule and now i get this message.

Go to the security up dates web site and update the updates it shald fix part of the problem as well you mite have to close the old file as it mite not have done that

Suretrak 3.0b: invalid path or file name when I try to save file as something else


The error message about invalid path is referring to a missing logo file. In the footer, or header, set Logo to None, or find the missing .bmp file and place it in your default SureTrak Clipart folder and re-browse to its location.

Use the file vcredist_x86.exe if you've got a standard Windows setup (i.e. 32 bit, not 64 bit).  As always check the system requirements.

When I open my computer I have both an "hp Administer" file and "Owners" file to log into. I always use the owners file. This past week I was trying to Print my travel schedule, hp 4215...


Log in as Administrator to install any program or make any changes. You cannot install or delete programs or access certain files unless you are logged in as Administrator.

After clicking print to PDF a schedule, Suretrak shows error message that says Suretrak Application Manager has encountered an error and needs to close. No other info.


I would try reinstalling the software. Sounds like a file got corrupted. If that does not fix it:

Have installed the latest patches for SureTrack?
Have you updated Windows?

If so, did the problem start after one of the updates?

To all that run into this problem like I have, here is the solution:

To install Suretrak 3.0 if you get “unable to find serial#” error:

  1. Temporarily Stop the Pervasive Sql Server Workgroup engine
  2. Install Suretrak
  3. After installation, copy wbtrcall.dll and wbtrv32.dll from the c:\pvsw\bin folder and paste to c:\windows\system and c:\windows\system32
Restart computer; all should be working now

do you read your mail from your browser, or a program like outlook/outlook express?

if it's your browser then make sure javascript is turned on

if it's trough outlook, make sure javascript is turned on in Internet Explorer

if they are both turned on try connecting from another computer, maybe the files are missing on the server
