How do i set the monitor so the text and icons appear clean and crisp?

go to acer website and download driver for monitor or graphics monitor. Make sure you download AL 1916W and NOT AL1916. Make sure after, you set your resolution to 1440 x 900. That should do the trick.

I have the acer AL 1916w monitor behind the monitor there are four holes available . i want to mount this monitor on the wall . so pls help how will i mount on wall by using this hole or any possibilities...

They are Metric screw M4 or M5 from HD or LOWE's,
When you buy a wall mounting kit, it should come with the monting screw, do some research to what kind of mounting kit you are going ti buy that will have the mounting pattern that fit your monitor or if it has variable pattern that will accomodate your monitor.

User manula and support;

Watch out for caps going bad in your monitor also.

I have a 19" ACER model AL 1916W wide screen and in the middle of doing something, the screen will black out and then come back on showing the ACER logo and continues on the page I'm working on...this will...

It proably has dying DC filter caps.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed ACER and other monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.
Capacitors kit: he can make you a set of caps for you.

Acer 1916w flickering

Its either going to be a problem with puffy capacitors on the main board or the lcd is going bad on it cause the backlight can't stay on.

The cost of fixing the monitor may be more then what a new one is worth but you wouldn't know unless you bring it to a repair shop and have them look at it.

Try another known working monitor to see if you get the same symptoms, if they go away then you know the original monitor is bad. if you get the same symptoms then the video card is bad.

How do I remove the back from my acer al 1916W

face down the monitor over a soft surface to avoid scratches .Remove all screws that you can see. There are more screws that mount the leg to the monitor .Those are hidden you can not see.Covered by a little plastic cover shell. After you remove all the screws ,now you need to remove the back cover from the monitor .using a flat screw driver or another slim tool begin from one side .stick the screw driver into join line between the front and back cover and twist it gently.this is hard part of the operation. You got to be careful .try to loose one side first then other sides ll be easier.

Open back cover on acer lcdAL1916W

Use the Acer AL1916v service guide as well as the Acer AL1916p service guide to disassemble the monitor. These can be found as PDF's using Google. Please note that disassemling the internal EMI perforated metal cover nor the electronics shown are for the 1916w model.
I fixed a 1916w that had a bad power board.(Delta A190E2). I replaced two blown 1000micro farad 25v dc electrolytic capacitors made by CapXon. Other people have had similar problems with this and other brands so do not use them as replacements.
To remove the back cover you must Remove the basse stand and the five screws holding it down. Now run your fingernail along between front and back covers. There are five catches on the top, four on the sides, and six on the bottom. Two of the cathes are at the corners of the plastic surrounding the control button module.
If you can get to the EMI shield you must first pull out the four connectors that go into the perforated EMI cover. I used my fingernails to gently pull them out by pulling and rocking these small white connectors. Do not pull on the wires. Next take out the four screws holding the EMI cover. You must also take out the two screws on the AC power connector as well as the two lugs on the video connector since they are screwed into the EMI cover.
Take the control panel circuit board out of its clip noting that the ribbon cable is lightly glued down in one spot. Rotate the ribbon cable and attached circuit board up vertically so as to clear the metal panel holding down the bottom of the EMI cover as you rotate this cover up 45+ degrees. Once clear of the EMI cover let the ribbon cable rest on this metal cover as you lift the EMI cover up vertically. Note the metal tabs coming up from below the two conectors. These must be kept below the EMI cover when it is replaced so that the screw holes line up. Once the EMI cover is removed lay down the lower metal plate making sure you clear the ribbon cable and put the control circuit board on the cables end back in its clip to protect it from accidental damage.
The power board and video board can now be examined. If you see domed capacitors on the power board you can remove the board by removing the four screws. Take hold of the board and gently pull and rock the board from side to side as you pull the multipin male connector out of the female connector on the video card.
Fix the power board by replacing any blown capacitors (domed tops) and reinstall. Reverse the process decribed above puting the monitor back together. Note that before screwing on the back cover first snap the front and back covers togther using your fingers.
Have a merry Christmas and new year.

1. Unplug the AC power cord to make sure the power is off.
turn the monitor upside down, you need 2 people for this.
2. Pull the 4 hooks on bottom side of the base and hold.
3. Separate the monitor and base.

Acer al 1916w blacking out ?

Power board is starting to have capacitors fail. They will get worse !
If it were a computer signal issue your power light color would change or you would get a no signal note.
A year ! yep about that time for an overhaul based on the parts they used.
search and you shall find me !
