Could be a faulty plug, but most of the time is the cable. Borrow a cable from someone and see if the problem has gone. If the answer is yes, go buy a new cable.

How to fix no power

Check for disconnected computer power cable connections. A loose or unplugged power cable is one of the top reasons why a computer won't turn on.
Laptop & Tablet Tip:Even though your computer runs on a battery, you should make sure that the AC adapter is plugged in properly, at least during troubleshooting. If you regularly keep your computer plugged in, but it has wiggled loose and now you're battery is empty, your computer may not be getting power for this reason.

Aspire d150-0Bw dark or blank screen

does the screen has power? even if it has blank/dark screen you can still tell if it has power. if it does try disconnecting and reconnecting its cable but you are going to open the laptop hardware. try cleaning the connector but if it doesnt work i guess you will have to buy a replacement. if it does not have power. you will still do the same thing. the connector could be disconnected.

After hitting power button to turn laptop on it turns itself off after 2 seconds and keeps turning off and on untill I remove the battery

Remove the battery & connect it via power cable then turn on . If its working then you need to replace the battery. Another way is disconnect the power cable & run the laptop via battery If its working then the problem cames from power cable adeptor. Now if your seen both way same problem its mean the SMPS its damaged and its not able to transfer the power in to the motherboard. Remove it & check the SMPS.As well as RAM too. Thanks & waiting for your Feedback.

Wont start up

We will see if the problem is due to the static charge accumulated on the laptop. Disconnect the power cable from the laptop and also take out the battery. Also, disconnect all the external devices attached to the laptop e.g. external mouse, keyboard, printer. Now keep on holding down the power button on the laptop for the next 30 seconds. Put the battery back and plug the power cable. Now try turning on the laptop and let me know if it works. Thanks!

Removing/replacing dvd rom drive

Hi Jerry
I have written down steps on how to remove the DVD-Rom drive for you.
Toshiba notebooks most screws are marked.
F4 - flat-head screw 4mm long
B6 - button-head screw 6mm long
F16 - flat-head screw 16mm long
B8 - button-head screw 8mm long

When you are taking apart a laptop you'll have to deal with lots of screws. Keep everything organized. I keep them in small cups separated easier to find and don’t get lost.
1. Remove the laptop battery
2. Carefully lift off the securing strip at the top of the keyboard.
3. Remove the keyboard securing strip.
4. Remove all screws securing the laptop keyboard.
5. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. Lift the edges of the connector first and then carefully disconnect the keyboard cable.
6. Remove screws securing the power switch board.
7. Disconnect the USB cable from the system board \motherboard
8. Lift off the power switch board.
9. Remove all screw from the support plate.
10. Remove the DVD drive securing screw.
11. Slide the DVD drive to the right and remove it.
12. Slide in the new DVD drive and follow this backwards.

Hope this helps it is not hard just have to take time an becareful when removing the securing strip at the top of the keyboard to get to screws.

Any questions I will be glad to help answer for you.

Replacing a DVD DRive in Averatec 5110

If your removing your dvd drive, disconnect any usb and power cables, hold down the power button for a few secs. You should be able to undo the screws and cables and then slide it out of the holder. Some times there are screws hidden. Usually there are four. If it catches on the front 'plate', you may have to remove it, but be careful, sometimes there are wires attached. This is, of course, for a desktop NOT a laptop. Dont worry about disconnecting your keyboard, but make sure that anything that has its own power is disconnected. This also depends on the design of your case as well. Good luck.
