If your instaling an after maket radio as in a kenwood or bose, and stuff just get a conection that goes from the stock radio hookup to the new radio. it keeps you from having to splice and cut your wires.......

OK, before you start splicing and frying your electronics in your vehicle, STOP! There are some place online that sell the vehicle side of the harness. Check on the Scosch or PAC website. If that's still not an option, check your dealer parts guy. Even if it costs you $100 to get a harness from a dealer, it's better than the $2500 to replace all your electronics and computer. But then again, that's your choice. Happy hunting.

Sounds like you have a constant feed going to the head unit, but the accessory wire on the head unit is not connected to an accessory 12v.
Are you using an aftermarket wiring harness or fishing through in-dash wires?

If you really want to check if there is a fuse blown, unhook your head unit and briefly touch the 12v accessory, 12v constant, and ground to the battery of your vehicle. If your head unit comes on, you have found your culprit of one of three wires.

2005 Pontiac Sunfire aftermarket audio system install

You can go to Walmart and in the stereo/speaker department they have dash kits for different vehicles.Just read the box to determine your vehicle. Also, they have amp kits for different wattage amps, but if you had rather buy each item you will need, a Power Wire (to the battery 4g or 8g), a ground wire (to the chassey), a remote wire that should run to a wire from your cd player saying remote (any size is fine), speaker wire (14g or 16g is fine) a set of RCA cables, and if your cd player dosnt have RCA jacks you will have to have a converter.

Need to know where to connect this last wire so i can play my new cd player in my truck

You need to find a wire under the dash that is a 12V switched wire, it is used to actually turn the radio on and off, normally works with the ignition switch.
