The top lid has broken off making the CD player inoperable. Can this be fixed or is there a alternative way of still using the CD player without the lid? vaphl48@hotmail.com

Makes noises when dvd is inserted

If it loads normally I would not worry about, keep in mind they use more plastic than metal and noise on loading is more evident.

The CD's don't change. The message appears on the screen "error....". Nor can I eject the CD's.

You have a problem with a Cd which is stuck in the transport carriage. If there is no way that you can retrieve do not try to wriggle this out as you might do more damage. You will need to take the player out of the dash and open the top lid.look inside for a CD that would have warped or broken and not being able to come out. Carefully see if the disc can be taken out without damaging the carriage, do not use force, if the loading motor could be accesssed then it becomes easier but do it only if your are confident., Once you get the cd out , reconnect and check if the set will perform. otherwise there could be further failure of the drive circuit, open connection to motor or failure of the pcb. Hope my advice is useful Good day

The top will not close when I put in a CD

Without knowing the make or model of your CD player, it's hard to figure out what's going, but likely the latching mechanism is broken.

My machine has the same problem and I got the same response from the company. I discovered a quick fix. With needle nose plyers I removed the wire from the corner of the lid that holds the lid open. Without the wire, the lid remains closed and the CD will play. The downside is that its tricky to open the lid. I've been using the piece of wire I removed to gently pry the lid open. I think I will glue a knob or ribbon to the top of the lid to make it easier to open. This isn't a perfect fix, but it was quick & free and now I can use my machine!

Radio fuse blown - Check your documentation on fuse panel lid or owners manual.
You're looking for a red 10A fuse.

CD lid

I strongly suggest super glue. Just allow the hinge to move into the opened position without the lid attached and then carefully match up the broken section and allow the glue to dry. Should work just fine. A replacement would not only be nearly impossible to find but would probably cost as much in product and shipping as the unit itself is worth.

Best of luck!

In the lid should be a mgnetic plate that holds the disc to the motor spindle (much like slight pressure would). Inspect it to make sure it's free moving and seating all the way when the lid is closed. I had one unit where the spindle on the motor shaft had slid down slightly causing the magnetic plate to not seat down all the way. Also, if the magnetic plate is removable, try placing it on the disc with the lid open and bypassed and see what happens.

Hope that helps...
