Most mice should work without any software, there is a button on the underside of the mouse that needs to be pressed in the right order with pressing the receiver button connected to the computers USB port. Typically Press the base connect button first, then the mouse connect button, then the keyboard button. If it doesnt work reverse the mouse keyboard order.
Make sure your using new batteries This is most often the case -dead batteries. (installed in the correct fashion)
