Hi I have the same problem with the belt coming off
I'm trying to take the lid off, have taken the two screws at the back off, but the lid wont come off.
Are there any more screws at the front to take out first as it seems to be still attached to something.
I dont want to pull it any harder as i feel like it's going to snap something

Jon you would have to remove the drum and you don't want to go to that hassle to fit a belt.
try this out

  1. remove lid
  2. remove back inspection panel
  3. from top of machine fit belt around motor pulley
  4. half fit belt to the drum pulley
  5. Here's the tip, get a cable tie and secure belt to drum pulley, may need to use 2 ties
  6. now slowley rotate drum and belt should slip straight on
when your not used doing this sometimes a good idea to remove the top weight, 3 13mm bolts. this will give you more room.

hope this helps

Ultima WD860 - dryer has been stuck with 1 minute left for about half an hour. Have turned it off but obviously my stuf is stuck inside.

Please disconnect your WD860 from the power supply. The door lock uses electrical power to stay closed. After you unplug the machine from electrical power, just wait a couple of minutes and the door lock will be released.

I want to replace the belt. how can i do it

Remove lower rear panel of washer,
Tilt washer away from you , and get someone to hold it for you.
Put belt on motor pulley first, and slowly feed it round drum pulley turning the pulley at the same time, it is quite hard to do, but persist and it will go on eventually.
Watch your fingers!!!!.

Flashing f - 05

Error f05 is a problem with the pressure system usually caused by a blockage. These are most commonly found in the pipe which is attached to the bottom of the drum.
Take off the access plate at the back of your machine and you can see it is secured by a large jubilee type clip.
Please be aware that there will be water in this pipe.
Hope this helps & thankyou for using Fixya.

Broken door handle Hotpoint WD860

Managed to work it out, you have to slide the outer door case away from the handle locking mechanism, slide left and move away (after undoing the 6 screws on the inside) :-)

How do I reattach/replace the belt that causes the Hotpoint Ultima WF860 to spin?

If you remove the back cover from the machine, you should see a big round pulley which attatches in the centre to the inner drum shaft. Below the drum you should see the motor. The belt goes around the big round pulley and onto the much smaller pulley on the end of the motor shaft.

How do I replace the belt that makes the drum spin on a Hotpoint Ultima WF860 ?

The belt goes around the drum and onto the motor pulley. No need to loosen anything. Put tension on the belt and fit it onto the motor pulley by gently turning the motor and pushing the belt onto the pulley at the same time.
